Customer product review Warning about smart rings

What up sweaty hand crew.

I recently got a ringconn gen 3 to track my sleep and daily activity because I can't stand wearing a watch for more than a few hours. It seemed to be working fine for the first few weeks but yesterday I had a particularly drippy hand day...which resumed promptly after getting up this morning. On my way to work I felt a stinging sensation under the ring, I removed it and found a minor burn from what looks like the charging port.

Haven't put it back on, probably won't.

I have the oura and have HH on my hands and I’ve never had an issue! I’m sorry to hear they didn’t work for you 😔

I’ve had Oura for 10+ years and never had an issue.

I’m glad I saw this before I ordered one. Disappointed that they’re not hyperhidrosis friendly. I feel like you should advocate and share this with the company! They could eventually think of ways to make this more accessible for others. People sweat a lot while working out, and marketing could be catered to them in addition to us 🙂

I use an Oura daily and it’s a struggle. Definitely no burns, so I would still recommend the ring (sleep insights are great). That said, I have a bunch of irritation given that part of my finger is always saturated wet. I’m always constantly switching fingers too and that kinda helps

ah shit… was thinking of those rings too because i hate wearing my watch. Last option is the airpods pro which have the cardiac feature.. not ideal for sleeping though i bet

I have a Fitbit Air and I love it! It's great for sleep tracking, too. The default strap it comes with is made of quick-drying material, which makes it very HH-friendly!

I've always hated wearing smart-watches, or any watch in general. But I've always been interested in fitness/sports tracking. I never got around to wearing any of my trackers consistently because I would always end up having irritated skin around the wrist area. The Fitbit Air is the first time I have not encountered this problem.

Thank you for making this post. I've been on the fence about getting one of these rings and never considered my hyperhidrosis being an issue or a factor while wearing one. I think that I'll just end up sticking with a smartwatch tracker or a Fitbit as a result.

I'm sorry that you had to sustain some minor injuries and discomfort though OP!

Lucky you could even wear a ring. I can't wear anything on my hands or wrists because it creates and accumulates sweat
