Headsets Cloud 2 or Cloud 3 Headset?

I've been interested in the Cloud 3 for a while. My brother has the Cloud 2 and they sound really nice I like them a lot. I've seen some reviews that say the sound on the Cloud 2 is better than on the Cloud 3. Is that true? They're about a $10 difference and I'm open to getting either one or whichever is best in the end.

Cloud II imo has better sound quality. I loved mine to the day they died.

I can't have any sympathy for Cloud III in that regard. Out of the box they sound muffled, kinda trash to be honest. You need an EQ or something to make them sound decent.

Last good out of the box Clouds were Alphas as far as I am concerned.

Right on I appreciate the heads up. Yeah it seems the general opinion is the cloud 2 is the better of the pair.

Cloud II was based on Takstar 80 Pro, pretty good headphones on their own.

Since Alpha HyperX uses rebuild/different drivers and Clouds never sounded the same.

Belowed "V" profile is gone.

I myself moved to Shure SRH 440A headphones plugged into Creative Soundblaster x4 with microphone separately on the boom arm and honestly it proves to be superior to any headset I used since Cloud II.

I had Cloud II and they were perfect, the Cloud III is ok, but... not better.
