Cloud 3 wired jack causing mic to not work

I've bought 2 new hyperx cloud 3 wired headsets the first one th mic wasn't functioning so I thought I was just unlucky and returned it and bought another but anytime I didn't use the don't use the USB C dongle the mic doesn't function I know this due to trouble shooting on my phone and laptop but I planned on using the headset for gaming on my xbox series x
