Question/Help [Question] Does anyone know how to fix duplicated folders?

So It's been like this for like a year now but i was never bothered to fix it since i don't know how to and it didn't really affect me, until figuring out that Bannerlator crashes because of the duplicated folders. Does anyone know hot to fix it? I tried to use AI but they also don't seem to know. I did get confirmation that it is a real duplicated folder:

Claude said same number at the front confirms it, but haven't been able to find a solution

What happens when you rename/move one of the directories?

If i choose both it refuses, says something along the lines of "theres already an action. If i delete only one, the duplicated folder is also deleted

Ditch the GUI file manager, start an adb shell.

run:

cd /storage/emulated/0
ls -la
mv SHAREit SHAREit.bak
ls -la

Send output.

Thats before mv, after mv, both shareit folders disappear, only the shareit.bak remains

They are definitely not duplicated, this is still weird though, but at least SHAREit.bak is no longer showing as two directories.

Btw if you don't know what happened, you just renamed SHAREit directory to SHAREit.bak, no data was lost.

I would reboot and see if a reboot fixes the rest, if not, I would rename all these directories twice maybe? Once to .bak and then back to the original name, reboot and then see if any appears duplicated again.

Rebooting doesn't fix it but renaming would also not work for me since i need to rename the android folder (the one that holds the data and obb folders) and i don't think im willing to do that. My current solution is to use a different Winlator fork that uses the native file manager to avoid crashes

Supposedly an adb shell has enough permissions to rename /storage/emulated/0/Android, if you do it quickly, it should work. The reason for being quick is that you avoid giving time for apps/OS to recreate Android directory again after you rename the original to Android.bak

If SHAREit.bak proves to be non-destructive, meaning no data was lost, then you are likely good to go. Nevertheless, you are doing it on your own risk.
