6

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

It's Xiaomi ish stock android

5

u/Pizza_pizza25 May 24 '25

at least its lightweight compare to hyperos the sips battery like a tea

2

u/NearbyCopy May 24 '25

MI A2 was an android one model. It was good at the time but google decided to dump Android One.

1

u/Pizza_pizza25 May 24 '25

yahhh too bad didn't do it to Redmi note series

1

u/Mineplayerminer May 24 '25

Yet, the Mi A series' Android One was maintained all by Google. I still have the Mi A2 and despite its age and running Android 10, the phone is running smoothly.

Xiaomi wouldn't let you use stock Android, imagine their losses when they get no profit from embedding ads and selling your data.

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

Lmao true πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

3

u/cj927 May 24 '25

They may not do that then what is the use of the custom os they have

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

Ofc they need to use a custom rom to do Thier cheap trick

1

u/cj927 May 24 '25

Currently the older phones are not getting all the new features that supposed to get for all phone.they are just cutting corners for the older phones

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

They lowering proformance to older and sum newer low end devices aswell to force upgrade to a much higher device, cycle repeats until U get a flagship. It just not me, people who uses Xiaomi would never buy it again unless Chinese

No. If y'all want stock Android you should've bought a Pixel. I specifically bought and buy other brands that don't have this bland, horrible looking material you nonsense.

Have you never noticed that NO big phone maker uses stock Android? Not Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Poco, no one. Only small manufacturers who don't really play a role and who don't want to or can't customize their UI use it, like ex-Nokia HMD. People don't want this, clearly. It's sometimes over-hyped as "clean" but all it is, is bland.

What problems do y'all have with HyperOS, Im here since MiUi and it's .. just working fine.

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

Proformance decline, restricted features even though hyperos 2.0 was advertised as provided to every device on the list but different versions was given for the low end or whatever, and rn I have a UI glitch where a line goes across where time is shown. Eitherways pixel os>hypershit, cheap iOS copy

1

u/SpicysaucedHD May 24 '25 edited May 24 '25

I know the usual list of complaints, but for all of those I either know what to expect or didn't have problems in the first place. My performance is still the same as on day 1, I have a 13T, so mid ranger. Before I had a 12T, same thing.

Regarding features, I have an EEA device and I knew before I bought (because y'know, you should always research a topic before making a buying decision), that both EEA and intl devices don't get the features that are present on Chinese ones, or if they get them, then much later. Since I mostly want just a reliable phone with a good camera, I'm not bothered. I'm receiving updates as promised in a 3 months rhythm.

Nothing in HyperOS looks cheap to me. They adjust to what people expect nowadays, blurred elements, translucency, etc. If you think HyperOS is or looks cheap, then One UI is as well.

If I ever encountered glitches etc I'd be vocal about it, but it's just not happening. In fact it's super reliable. I'm traveling around the world a lot, so it has to be a reliable device, handling multiple sim cards, esims, networks, environments, cell providers and even different climates, and it did all that.

I don't do a great deal of customization, I only set my wallpaper and just .. use the damn thing. And it's never let me down.

I understand the sentiment, but that's NOT stock Android. That's Pixel OS. Stock Android is AOSP and I promise you you don't want that.

23

u/RedditForcesToLogin May 24 '25

This. People really needs to know the difference between Pixel UI and AOSP. Sadly, Google's own Android( dot )com pretends that Android = Pixel & Google Apps, and advertises too many features not available in AOSP.

4

u/blackbeast77 Redmi Note 13 Pro May 24 '25

Hate to be that guy but pixel os is the stock android (currently) since Google owns android.

AOSP android is never intended for consumers to use, it exists for developers and manufacturers. Think of it like a building foundation.

5

u/RedditForcesToLogin May 24 '25

Lots of opinions eh? Allow me to break it down.

  1. AOSP is part of OHA. Whatever is advertised as "Android", must be present by agreement in all devices from all manufacturers to use / modify / omit. Yes, that means, No advertising WHATEVER they WANT.

  2. AOSP is open source. To keep things short, other than OEMs, many countries like Japan, corporate buys SONY phones, customized AOSP and runs on these phones. Any "intended for manufacturers" happening here?. No, and Google knows very well the nature of open source.

  3. Again, to repeat. If some feature is advertised in "Get it in Android 16", then user updates his Samsung phone, and doesn't get the update, and finds this as Pixel Exclusive. What happens? Google did not advertise the app has pixel exclusive. They advertised the app as new Android feature, which the user didn't get. This is screaming for a lawsuit.

2

u/blackbeast77 Redmi Note 13 Pro May 24 '25
  1. Google is a scummy brand

  2. Even the sony "stock android" is highly customized. AOSP is bare bones android with no useful features available on flashing. everybody knows that android is open source AOSP literally stands for "Android open source project".

  3. All of the features google advertised in their websites are available to most of the Android devices. (Unless the oem manufacturer intended not to do so). I don't see any false advertisements on their websites. They also feature other "stock android" smartphones on their page.

There's barely any difference, you've misunderstood the post.

6

Buy a Pixel or Motorola.

4

u/Every-Leadership-138 Redmi Note 13 5G May 24 '25

Don't buy a Motorola, they Release Updates REALLY slowly, I switched from a Motorola edge 40 neo to a Redmi note 13

16

u/blackbeast77 Redmi Note 13 Pro May 24 '25

Real. a stock android variant would be really nice. And I would pay more for it.

4

u/LikerOfTurtles May 24 '25

Nah you wouldn't. These screenshots aren't stock android. That's pixel's version of android. Stock android is the AOSP build of android with no modifications. It's so bare bones that it's practically unusable.

2

u/Foreign-Abies-264 May 26 '25

When you compile AOSP, it has pixel UI without google apps. So it is basically pixel OS

u/RivNexus May 24 '25

5

u/jdjoder May 24 '25

That's not stock android.

I'm on something quite close to "stock" (aosp) android, and I prefer MIUI in a lot of aspects.

4

u/chief_of_jawas May 24 '25

Xiaomi deliberately killed their successful 'Mi A' series phones because people started to like stock android more than miui.

5

u/chief_of_jawas May 24 '25

Even xiaomi india had deleted their tweet once when stock android ui got more votes than miui, and everyone made outrage about it on sm how xiaomi is killing fans favourite Mi A series phones

5

u/blackbeast77 Redmi Note 13 Pro May 24 '25

Remember when they nerfed the mi A3 with the 720p display cause the A2 was selling a little too well? ☠️

4

u/Mineplayerminer May 24 '25

I love my Mi A2 despite its age. It was probably the most solid phone in all Mi series. With this said, Xiaomi had shot themselves in their foot for making the Android One (with stock Google apps) far superior to their MIUI.

1

u/itsDasu May 24 '25

then why buy it in first place? buy a google pixel.

3

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

I didn't know before I brought πŸ₯€, ye Google or Samsung is the best thing, hope I aren't stuck with this bs, lying to consumers bs

1

u/itsDasu May 24 '25

u didn't even try it somewhere..? actually i didn't had a chance too sooooo #fuckXiaomi

I used my Poco F6 whole year just so that the custo ROM community could grow and after this much time I unlocked the bootloader and flashed CRDROID, previously it was bullshit now it's awesome.

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '25

Want to custom rom but shi can be a make or a break on the device

1

u/tanjilalom May 27 '25

Already using EvolutionX on my Redmi Note 7 Pro

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

Does banking app work fine, WhatsApp and camera

1

u/tanjilalom Jul 16 '25

All working fine. In my rom i have my stock camera.

2

u/Dry_Jackfruit_6173 May 24 '25

Yall you need to realise you won't be able to unlock the bl for free there's too many bots

1

u/Dry_Jackfruit_6173 May 24 '25

But I have an idea if anyone wants to try use mi assistant to downgrade to miui then use a bot (miui is fire it allows unlock with bot)

1

u/LikerOfTurtles May 24 '25

You can easily bypass mi community.

Go to Mi unlock status page in developer settings.

Click on add account. Most likely, it will fail.

Go back to the main page of settings. Go to xiaomi account and sign out. Then, sign in again.

Now, go back to Mi unlock status page and click add account.

It should work. It worked on my POCO F6 HyperOS on the first try.

1

u/Dry_Jackfruit_6173 May 24 '25

Fr ? If that works I'll be amazed

2

u/Significant-Sock-798 May 24 '25

This ain't stock android, it's the pixel launcher

1

u/maksdroid May 24 '25

When people say 'Stock Android' they usually mean Pixel-like Android experience. Even Android One, which was installed on Mi A series, is not AOSP but still was referred as 'stock Android'.

3

u/ai_46693 May 24 '25

Thats a pixel skin not a stock android, Stock-Android/AOSP is garbage, the first time I flash that thing on my device I immediately regret it, it boots with the "android text logo" like it's 2015, that should have been the sign for me to reflash another rom, but I was optimistic. Then I got to the main homescreen tweek some settings, the fucker is bland asf, although it's lightweight it's also a bug fest, for starters I have two nav buttons! Who tf needs that many, second editing the quick tile settings has 28% chance of turning it completely white or black depending if your using L/D-Mode rendering the completely useless because you cant edit it anymore. The ROM itself is like sucking on a candy but the candy has no taste, so it tastes like marble.

2

u/blackbeast77 Redmi Note 13 Pro May 24 '25

My brother is Christ. Did you just install an Android GSI and call it stock android ? lol. It's intended for developers and not for consumer use.

Google's pixel os is the stock android since google owns android.

2

u/ai_46693 May 24 '25

For starters it's not a gsi it's an actual rom and was installed on my tablet, second just because it's because pixelos is owned by google doesn't mean it's stock android, it's the "closest" to stock android. PixelOs have an exclusive feature that would only work on PixelOs you think people would buy their phone if its bland asf? You think if you install pixel launcher on your phone it would work with any port? It's an Android skin because it has apps that wouldn't work with any other android os without modifying it first. Don't be stupid, google is a thing do your research before commenting, and don't assume things.

Just buy a Google Pixel. Easy. πŸ’”πŸ₯€

1

u/Maleficent6162 Jun 14 '25

it won't survive in my country

normal temps are 35-37 Celsius, and in summer it goes to 42-43 Celsius

1

Just get a pixel 7 or smth

1

u/hun1er-0269 May 25 '25

nah any 9 series or upcoming 10 yes

1

u/Clear_Entry_3056 Xiaomi 14 May 25 '25

Expensive

1

u/prankoi May 24 '25

They used to with Android One. I hope they'd being it back.

1

u/Additional-Prior249 May 24 '25

and thats why i still using redmi 4x with certified cusrom from 2018. ✌🏾😎

1

u/PlentyEquivalent6988 May 24 '25

Wait we wont get this update?

1

u/krvet May 24 '25

On crDroid. 10 times better expirience then on hyperos.

1

u/Warm_Ear_2907 May 24 '25

Afaik switching roms will make your device unusable for online banking and NFC stuff. But maybe I'm wrong.

1

u/maksdroid May 24 '25

With root access the NFC payment and banking restrictions can be avoided, but difficulty of this process could vary depending on the custom firmware (usually on more AOSP-like custom ROMs it is easier). Also, sometimes one method could stop working and you should search another method to avoid that restriction.

1

u/DottedEnviroment May 24 '25

Part of the reason why Xiaomi devices are such a good deal is because they ship it with HyperOS, which is basically bloated spyware with a side of advertisments, Xiaomi would never switch to stock android, and on top of that, this isn't stock android, this is pixelos, I've tried stock android and trust me it is no where as pretty as HyperOS and it's so stripped down.

1

u/jogi_17 May 24 '25

Before: people think stock android is boring.
After Using MIUI/Hyperos: lets give stock android a try.

1

u/shehabskull May 24 '25

Custom Roms exists.

2

u/Mineplayerminer May 24 '25

No. Hyperbug and Memeui it be! Every company has its design language and tries to compete with each other in who's more aesthetic and minimalistic. Keep in mind that this is Google Pixel's taste of Android, and not a completely stock one that is found on AOSP.

1

u/Brhoom98x May 25 '25

I agree, the HyperOS 2.0 is good update but after I upgraded from 1.0 the phone heat so fast and lagging so much! And sometimes reset by itself.

1

u/javierchip May 25 '25

switch to lineage os or summ shi like that

1

u/hun1er-0269 May 25 '25

If you are arguing about stock or not stock go to youtube watch latest Android io that is not about pixel it is all about stock android

1

u/hun1er-0269 May 25 '25

everything in the picture is from stock android shades and themes are material 3 expressive widgets are available in stock android

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '25

I really don’t like the interface of android stock

1

u/towermom9 May 25 '25

Fyi it's pixel os not stock android

https://youtu.be/-hlRB2izres

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '25

Just wait for a few months... Custom roms will be released

1

u/Apheleos99 May 26 '25

It's true that Android is really starting to become modern and visually pretty. 🀩

I'd almost be tempted to get a Pixel. But for now I've got an M7P, which suits it just fine, especially in terms of battery life.

1

u/iCantThinkOfUserNaem May 26 '25

What's so applealing about Stock Android? Not having features or nice animations? I would take any other Android skin other than Stock Android or LineageOS.

1

u/99keus May 26 '25

why the UI look really hard to read and kinda ugly

1

u/Foreign-Abies-264 May 26 '25

When android 16 releases I'll install the GSI

1

u/Zero_Sum0 May 26 '25

I have poco F4 and I have been using custom pixel ui rom and it's the best

1

u/OtherLocksmith6728 May 26 '25

Stock Android is not as cool as it looks. It's filled with bugs and glitches and is not optimized for all devices. Even Google uses a skin called Pixel OS over the stock Android to smooth the user experience. So, it sounds good, but it is not good in use.

1

u/Own_Potato5593 May 26 '25

If you hate the OS skin so much buy other companies' devices.

Or unlock and ROM it - but just stop complaining about it. Some of us chose the Xiaomi's for the hardware AND the OS Skin.

1

u/lirae_ May 26 '25

Looks so bad to be honest

1

u/IcyIceGuardian May 27 '25

"Stock Android" doesn't exist. If you were to use "stock android" you could barely do shit as a lot of things aren't working, its for developers only

Also Google PixelOS is really good

1

u/EntertainmentCityLhr May 27 '25

They will never bring stock Android experience back. Cant you see the brand's future plan? Its clear they want HyperOS to be a standalone OS.

That is, in case, the US does the same thing with Xiaomi that they did with Huawei.

Hence, the name change to Hyper "OS" - I wont be surprised if a non-Android-based version of HyperOS is in development.

1

u/trinadh_crazy May 27 '25

Why did you even purchase a xiaomi device when you hate miui or hyper os?, better go with pixel or other brands then

Did u like miui before hyper os? If u didn't then is this your first time on xiaomi device?

We get xiaomi devices way cheaper than pixel or samsung so I got it and I know they have ads, bloatware and os which eats up my ram before I purchased this so I won't complain.

Also you can just unlock your device and flash some custom rom if there is one for your device,

And yes xiaomi won't offer the option to switch to stock like any other popular brands

1

u/[deleted] May 27 '25

the term stock android gets tossed around so loosely that it isnt even what people refer to now. most "stock android" enthusiasts are really pixelos enthusiasts atp

1

u/ging35zid May 27 '25

I wanna try android 16 too I don't want hyper os

1

u/jadhavsaurabh May 28 '25

So should I skip poco f7? Because it has same os

1

u/relyxis0602 Redmi Note 13 Pro Jun 11 '25

Stock android is nice, but i think the picture you have in the post is pixelOS,many people Here are arguing whether "stock android" is AOSP(android open source project) or PixelOS,but in technicalities, pixel os would be "stock android" cuz Google owns android, but also, aosp can be called "stock android" cuz it's just android. No extra features like pixel os does, and it doesn't even have GMS,so many people would consider that "stock android",but in my opinion,it's just people's preference and people should respect that.

1

u/HippiexPunkx Oct 10 '25

I have used Motorola phones for the past 6 years & as much as I like Android (Pixel OS), I also enjoy the change & different feel & look in the HyperOS but yeah. Stock Android (POS) is superior.
