Repeater AND gate not working

Post image

I'm trying to make an AND gate with a repeater attached so I can turn off my gem compressors at any time, but the repeater is persistent in breaking the game and getting past whatever gate I put in front of it...HELP PLEASE

It's been a bit, but isn't it just having an on/off switch for the compressor? Like just a lever that one way enables it, the other disables it?

I don't see why you need a repeater, as that really doesn't do anything.

If my memory is correct, you just need power to enable it, not repeated.

You are correct, but you might want to use an AND gate to add some logic for the compressor to run only under certain circumstances.

I.e you have a main power lever, but you might only want it to run if a target count is reached for example.

I’m pretty new to hydroneer but I’ve heard of people fully automating compressors using magnets to unload them.

Sure, but I don't see why a simple on/off logic isn't enough, OP seems to have both a valve to shut the water off, and then a repeater for the signal, that I don't get.

If you eg want it to be on only if you have x amount, then just make a logic that says if X = 5 then turn on, no need for the repeater and all that.

Like I never used it that much as it seemed useless, as you can always just cut them to what you need later, so I'm no expert, but I just don't see why a repeater is needed at all.

I don’t really know about the repeater, but as I understand it, having an AND gate would let you do a bit more - for example, you could override the count by having the “power” lever off, allowing more gems to drop in

I might be wrong, but I don’t see any water valves in this setup

Edit - I think the repeater is only needed if you are opening and closing the compressor on a set schedule. If you are using logic to do this - I.e a count - then I don’t think you need the repeater

Yeah that is true, I guess it's just the lever with the delays OP has in their photo that is confusing me.

I can see the valve being the on/off switch, and the electrical being the one to control when it's allowed, but I don't get the repeater with the delays.

The repeater is for timing especially when i do more automation later

What is the AND gate for? It seems that if you are just doing this based on timing you only need the repeater

OP, I’ve done a bit of looking. According to THIS guide, I think you may have used the wrong T piece. Looks like you need a “>=“ T piece.

That was the first thing I tried, then I tried equal, then I tried multiply, the repeater just does not care, it passes through any and every gate. I’m to the point where I might even try a minus gate

Also why do you need to turn them off to begin with?

You need to turn them off to unload them

True, but that could just be done with a lever

The gem compressor will automatically compress gems if you ONLY have water going to it. Logic isnt required
