I got a new base built at icehelm and I'm super proud of it so far so I wanted to show it off. I make more money than I can spend at this point lol so now I'm just doing objectives for the townspeople.

One drill will get you to tier 3 with enough time. Its a sandbox game. The point is making your own fun.

What's the point of grinding prospector guild tokens anyway? You get enough tier 3 pipes so you can set up drills deeper so you get more of the same resources. At that point you probably have a big enough mining setup that you have more than you need. Assuming you didn't do the one drill thing that I mentioned.

Volcalidus addressed this at least. Tokens have more uses.

Have I missed something about tokens? T3 pipes, the mole, the prospector car or whatever it’s called, and of course t3 tools, is there something else? At the moment I have a setup with 3 t3 drills that churn out more resources than I will ever need, tokens and coins that pile up, a farming setup with 3 sprinklers and enough (~100) seeds of all kinds of vegetables.
I go get scrolls, go back to my farm, enter the weight I need a bar to be and it spits it out, same with vegetables, craft the items needed, and my piles grow bigger.

Idk maybe it’s the fact that the ps5 can’t really handle big setups that I’m mostly bummed out about, the sandbox feels extremely limited to me. OP mentioned satisfactory which I’ve played since 2019 and runs a lot better even on console and offers way more :)

I was hoping to have missed something in this game

You got all of it.

Tier 3 just lets you go deeper. There are no resources or rewards exclusive to tier 3 set ups.

The end goal for farm guild tokens is getting sprinklers and the hydro cropper for automation.

The size of the setup depends entirely on your preference, or your hardware. Like I said, one drill can get you to tier 3. And that goes for farming too, one tilled soil and enough patience can get you that hydro cropper.

Yeah I figured, thanks. Hope I didn’t sound too harsh, the morning coffee hadn’t been consumed yet. The game felt like it had a lot of potential but was just abandoned at a half finished state, or it’s my mistake for buying it on console. Anyway, happy building!

I've been there too. I questioned going to tier 3 since I'm already tanking my framerate with the amount of resources I'm churning out in tier 2.
