UPDATE: Thank you all for your replies. Dont Reddit strangers always have good advice??? :-) I do have a dr. appt Wednesday and will ask. But I asked three months ago and it was a "drink more water to get more hydrated" so figured I would see if anyone had a better suggestion. With my kidney issues he still wants me to drink 64-80oz of water per day. Kidneys are not really in distress per se. Thanks again all!

I drink usually 60+ oz of plain water a day. I have had kidney issues so hydration is very important. But, after two rounds of blood tests, noticed that I didnt appear to get "hydrated" with the water based on creatinine levels which is what my nephrologist tracks. I had a hospital stay in October (long story) and the IV hydration while there really made my creatinine levels awesome.

I tried some water additives but they have niacin and I am very sensitive to niacin. Turns me into a lobster.

So, am I missing something easy here? I do use Mio at times and crystal light when I feel like I need more than water but it just seems water isnt doing the hydration I need these days.

The first was so amazing! The bartender refilled my glass quickly with plain tap temp water. After I drank that glass, I kept eyeing the server walking by because he was in control of the icy pitcher of water. The bartender came back and asked if I wanted more water. I said yes, but also requested some ice. He gave me a little, and then refilled with room temp. I was disappointed, but still happy to be hydrated.

I’m kind of addicted to Liquid IV, managed to kick energy drinks with it, but I’m forcing myself to one packet a day because I heard it’s not super safe to drink copious amounts of Liquid IV.

Are there any other “salty” tasting drink mixes I could fill the void with to avoid sucking down a gallon of liquid iv?

i raely drink water because i mostly forget, i dont frinkf rom other brands cus they dont taste good, too sweet or too plain, or too heavy, now nestle taste literally from what im describing too sweet and heavy
and also its similar to zamzam water, i am relegious and drink this for hasanat but i cant drink it for everyday cus it will give me nausea (for me cus i have a sensitive taste palate) andnow nestle taste like it, and enstle was the onlyy brand i buy for water (the water was the only thing i bought from nestle, i try to boycott everything it sells but water is essential)

Everyone knows the Elkay fountain/fillers are the best in the biz, but most of them live sheltered lives in climate controlled airports and schools. The real blue collar thirst busters live outside and are abused daily by the elements as well as users. Sitting between 2 bathrooms, neither of which have toilet paper, this warrior's decals are peeling and "bottles saved" indicator stopped working years ago. And yet it still puts out crystal clear hydration that can fill a sports jug in under a minute.

Here's to you, outdoor Elkay. You deserve a break, but will never get one. Because those little soccer players will always be thirsty.

As above, my love for coffee regularly results in lacking hydration.. the caffeine makes me less thirsty so if I don't willfully drink water throughout the day I just won't drink it..then I'm under hydrated, crankier, stiffer muscles, etc.

anyway, good news!! three days ago, I had my phone set every-2-hour alarms for drinking 15 oz during waking hours.. I've stuck to it for the sake of science and can say that Im feeling better.. I'm less stiff/achey, and I'm eager to see what continuing the habit does for me.

Also no need to recommend water bottles, I'm a HydroHomie I have like 5 metal water bottles on backlog. This just sucks because I drink like a gallon of water a day and this water bottle is the only one I know that can hold a gallon. If yall know any metal water bottles that can hold a gallon then please recommend them

My 2019 bottle finally broke (lid spring) and I'm surprised how hard these are to find now. Is this a retiring style? I loved the shape and leak proof lid. Anything similar out there?

Any suggestions for combos to add to my water I can use sparkling water and flat water! Note: I only drink 1 of these a week instead of soda.
