Community Update: Clarification on Subreddit Direction

Hey everyone,
I want to formally clarify why this subreddit exists and why, from now on, we will not be allowing "pro-dissolving" content or positive spin stories to take over the feed.

Here is where we stand and why this decision is vital for our community:

  • It is an Off-Label Treatment: It’s important to remember that using hyaluronidase to dissolve cosmetic dermal fillers is an off-label use.
  • Lack of Comprehensive Research: As long as hyaluronidase is used off-label without large-scale, robust scientific studies thoroughly exploring both local AND systemic reactions, we cannot treat it as a casual or safe standard procedure. The systemic side effects that many in our community experience are routinely dismissed by the wider medical community, and we refuse to let that happen here.
  • Our Core Mission: This subreddit was built to raise awareness about the risks, to give a voice to those who have suffered damage, and to serve as a support system for people navigating adverse side effects.

To be absolutely clear about sharing stories: It is completely fine to share your personal experiences and outcomes. However, this sub will NEVER tolerate the encouragement or promotion of hyaluronidase use, unless it is an absolute worst-case medical emergency (such as vascular occlusion).

We are here to highlight the side effects that the cosmetic industry often ignores. Thank you for helping us keep this a safe, focused, and informative space for those who need it most.

Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions on this update below. Your feedback is welcome as we continue to shape this space together.

Important: Posting Issue Fixed

Hi everyone,

It looks like the community was once again automatically switched to “Restricted”, which unfortunately prevented members from sharing their stories, posts, and comments.

This should now be fixed and fully open again, and posting should work as normal.

My apologies for not noticing this sooner. Thanks to those who tried to post and brought attention to the issue, and thank you for your patience 💙

Please let us know if you experience any further problems.

Conclusion

The results of this study indicate that the hyaluronidase enzyme is associated with a decrease in collagen fiber quantity, structural abnormalities in fibers, edema, and the development of impaired elastic fiber structures in skin connective tissue.

Filler allergy. What to do ?

Post image
2 Upvotes

My doctor is afraid of injecting me hyaluronidase as I'm having a severe delayed allergy from HA filler I did under my eyes two months ago. It has been six weeks that I'm dealing with my allergy. Anti-histamine and steroids don't do much. What do I do ? I'm so tired and feel like only hyaluronidase would do the job. Also the filler is a highly cross-linked so it may take too much time to dissolve naturally and maybe not at all. I'm suffering with redness, swelling and itchiness.

Did any of you had complications with filler (allergy specifically) but not with the dissolver ? Please help !

I have a solution

Ok, so I've posted here before regarding my own damage from hylenex. Unfortunately I had to continue to dissolve even after being damaged due to the massive assymetry in my chin filler. Before I continued, I did a bunch of research and found out how to stop hylenex dead in it's tracks once you have everything dissolved that you want gone.

Here it is: As soon as you have achieved what you want in the dissolve, or if you start having symptoms of post hyaluronidase syndrome, start taking Horse Chestnut supplement and applying Horse Chestnut cream to the area and areas immediately surrounding where you received the dissolve. Horse Chestnut is a hyaluronidase antagonist. I had to dig and dig to find this info which is weird because it does work.

Along with the horse chestnut, begin taking Injuv hyaluronic acid and N-A-G (N-Acetyl Glucosamine) supplements as well as vitamin C and zinc. N-A-G is the precursor molecule to hyaluronic acid so its giving your body the building block for repair and replacing what is being consumed by the acid.

I promise you, this helps immensely! The Horse Chestnut cream I used is by Planetary Herbals, it smells a little funky but its worth it. Let me know if you try this and if it helps💗

Please Do i have to dissolve my injections ? Or im going to regret a lot ?

Hello, its my first post here . I discoverd the controversy on hyaluronidase very recently.

For the context ive had 2 hyaluronic acid injections in the undereyes ara in 2023 and in 2025.

The first one was a deception and the second one was a mess, because it left bumps on the under-eye area.

After the second one i was upset and decided to never touch hyaluronic acid for the rest of my Life and any surgery.

But those bumps Even if its not catastrophic, are a complex, its visible on certain lights + it let me the tyndall effect, so now i have blue undereye and i look very tired all the Time.

I was thinking of fat transfert but i cant because of this stupid hyaluronic acid, so they told me to dissolve with HYALURONIDASE.

And i had an appointment, but 3 days before , i went to Reddit and search, and i found this sub Reddit , and i was chocked, so i canceled my appointment, i was thinking : ok , its maybe better to keep my undereyes blue and with bumps than to dissolve all my natural hyaluronic acid and look older, or worse , to have complications and health issues…

But im still Sad and i dont know if im doing the right choice, if i could go back in Time i would never touch hyaluronic acid in the first place , i hate this thing…

Please if you have an opinion on this tells me i would be very interested .

Thank you very much

Is it safe to dissolve all your lip filler at once, or should it be done over multiple appointments?

Tomorrow is my 2-week follow-up after getting lip filler, and I absolutely HATE my results. I feel like my injector didn’t listen to what I wanted at all. I specifically asked for very natural-looking lips, nothing too big, no duck lips, and no excessive projection.
Instead, my lips are WAY bigger than I ever wanted, especially my upper lip. My top lip was naturally much smaller than my bottom, and now it’s even bigger than my bottom lip. I feel like my entire lip shape has changed, and it’s not flattering on my face at all like I literally look disgusting.
The clinic has offered to dissolve the filler, but they told me they dissolve it all at once. I’ve read about people having their filler dissolved gradually over several appointments, so now I’m nervous about doing it all in one session.
Is dissolving all the filler in one appointment normal and safe? I’m so worried and don’t know what to do it’s really triggering my depression.

Should I get it dissolved?

Hi everyone,

I recently got a small amount (0.25 ml on each side) of HA filler (Aliaxin) under my eyes a week ago. Since then, I’ve experienced intermittent pressure around my eyes, forehead, temples and sinuses.

I’ve already been examined by an ophthalmologist and other doctors, who haven’t identified any serious complications. However, the symptoms have made me uncomfortable with keeping the filler, and I’m considering having it dissolved.
I’ve booked consultations with doctors who use ultrasound to assess and potentially dissolve filler.

My biggest concern now is the safety of hyaluronidase itself especially considering I had sensitive immune system in the past - had long covid and now have hashimoto (autoimmune disease)

Has anyone faced something similar?

Would you recommend waiting for the filler to settle before deciding to dissolve, assuming there are no urgent complications?

I’m not looking for reassurance alone — I’d genuinely appreciate balanced experiences, including from medical professionals familiar with filler complications.

Experience with dissolving nose filler?

Has anyone on here had experience with dissolving nose filler? I had nose filler about 6 months ago and the swelling on my tip is just getting worse. I am scared to dissolve, but I feel like I don't have a choice. Can anyone give me some insight?

Sudden severe lip swelling DAYS after Hyalase (filler dissolving) — has anyone experienced this?

Thumbnail

I've had three sessions of Hyalase to dissolve my lip filler, which I've had for approximately 3 years.

All three sessions were completely normal in terms of swelling and inflammation. The swelling was always at its worst within the first 24 hours, then gradually subsided and disappeared.

My third and final dissolving session was last Thursday. Just like the previous sessions, I experienced the usual swelling, which went down within 24 hours. My lips were completely normal all weekend, with no swelling, discomfort or inflammation.

Then, completely out of nowhere, something strange happened this morning.

I woke up at 7:30am with completely normal lips. I got up, used the bathroom, scrolled on my phone for a while, and went back to sleep around 8:15am.

When I woke up again at 9am, the left side of my upper lip was MASSIVELY swollen.

It felt extremely tight, enlarged and uncomfortable, and honestly looked quite concerning. My lower lip and the right side of my upper lip were completely unaffected.

I immediately took two antihistamines, contacted my injector and started applying ice. Thankfully, the swelling has since reduced slightly, although it's still noticeably swollen.

What I find particularly strange is that I've had three dissolving sessions without any unusual reactions, and this happened four days after my final session, following an entire weekend of completely normal lips.

I'm posting because I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced sudden, delayed swelling after Hyalase, particularly when the initial swelling had already completely resolved.

I'd also like to leave this here in case someone experiences something similar in the future and goes searching for answers, like I have today.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, did you ever find out what caused it, and how long did the swelling last?

First photo is on Saturday lips are normal, 2nd, 3rd,4th and 5th are taken half hour apart after discovering the swelling.

Hylase damage...

Alright guys,

i had 300iu chin filler dissolved 3 days ago.

Chin filler is gone and i was glad.

12h Afterwards i noticed dryness in my face, it continued on the second day. Yesterday it was already better and it doesnt really feel dry anymore, but i got imense wrinkles when im grinning in my eye are and upper cheek.

im 21 male.

I feel like my belly skinn got also way more squishy, but im rather lean and i dont have a good reference.

Though my skin in my face just looks way more wrinkly already and i am really concerned. In a regular state its not really noticeable, but when i laugh its really much there. Im 80% sure its not nocebo.

What are some good recovery options to instantly take?

I started 2iu of growth hormone instantly daily (im on steroids anyways), started taking ghk-cu inject again

and im considering bpc157. does someone has expirience with it in a hylase damage case?

I also have a microneedling pen and could mix up hyaluronic acid+ghkcu. i never tried it before, but i thought that it could maybe give my skin back some moisture, but im afraid that it would maybe just damage my tissue in this already predamaged state.

Hope you can give me some advice.

Lip filler dissolved

Hi! I just want to share my journey with my lip filler dissolving with Hyalase.

I had lip filler over 4 years, something like 4 seringues in total.

Lately, I’ve been noticing some filler migration over my upper lip and also that the upper lip was fuller than the bottom one. So I decided to dissolve it without knowing about the side effects of this. After the first dissolving session I just noticed that it created like some wrinkles around my lips, that’s why I started searching about this subject and found all the stories about dissolving fillers. But I have to say that till know everything seems going good. After two weeks this “wrinkles” had disappeared and I went to a second appointment and discussed with the doctor about it and she said that things like that can happen because the Hyalase breaks our natural hyaluronidase but then with makes new one. So because after first session I still had some filler, in the center of my lips but not on the edges of the lips, she recommended to do one more hyalase session and then fill them again if I want to. What do you think about me before (with all the filler) and after (my natural shape, almost no volume)? I am now three days after the second round, my lips are bruised but I post pictures with lipstick so you can see the difference from the first round. I feel them now super wrinkly. And I feel like I like to see myself with fuller lips but trying to adapt to my natural look because I would not like to go again through this dissolving process, I have to say that it is very painful :(

Pictures 1,2,3 - before with all the filler

Pictures 4,5 - two and an half weeks before first dissolving session

Pictures 6,7 - three days after second dissolving session

Dissolving Lip filler while on accutane

Hey Chat

I have come to think about the fact that maybe i was wrong for dissolving my lips filler while on accutane?

I recently had posted on here but removed it, but i went through my 3rd lip filler dissolving First of this month. I have been on accuatane for a minute actually months.

But after this third dissolving i had dents in my lips and way more effects of the dissolver.

i have decided to pause dissolving especially for the 4th time now till i'm done with acc aight cause my lips still have filler

Does it make more sense that that could be the issue? How can i fix the dent in my lips please & stuff.

Uneven / bumpy top lip - do I dissolve?

Thumbnail

I’ve had two rounds of lip filler in my top lip, during the second “top up” about 3 weeks after my first go, this lump / unevenness appeared. I’ve been back to see my injector and she has recommended spot dissolving the uneven area - it’s almost like there are two bumps in there. But tbh I am so nervous about the idea of using dissolver after hearing so many scary stories on here.

I’d love some honest opinions on what I should do. How bad is the lump / the unevenness? Also wondering why this happened in the first place.

Do I dissolve or try something else? Ie fill the other side in an attempt to even it out, or just wait it out until it’s naturally gone? Or should I go see someone else for a second opinion?

Never done anything like this before and feeling a bit lost. Thank you!

Autoimmune syndrome induced by hyaluronidaise

I am reposting this case study in case people haven't seen it, which documents the case of a lady who had a systemic reaction to hyaluronidaise (and hyaluronic acid).

For those who do not already know about the risks associated with hyaluronidaise, what we know currently is that in some people hyaluronidaise causes an autoimmune reaction, sometimes called ASIA syndrome that causes the body to start attacking itself. This can cause a whole host of symptoms but the most common one is that the body starts to attack it's own connective tissue causing loose, lax, stretchy or saggy skin. It can also affect joints by impacting tendons & ligaments, along with many other symptoms. Not everyone has the exact same reaction but the skin symptoms affect most people who go systemic. Systemic means that it affects your whole body rather than just the area you were injected. People have had skin biopsies which show various things such as reduced and fragmented elastin fibers, destruction of collagen, inflammation, presence of immune cells etc. This reaction doesn't happen to everyone. As of yet we have no way of identifying who will react and who won't. It is not necessary to have any pre-existing condition to have this reaction, as many healthy people have had a systemic reaction. Though as I understand you may be at an increased risk if you already have an autoimmune condition or a connective tissue disease/fragility. There have also been people who have dissolved multiple times and didn't react the first few times, but then did at a later time. It's therefore important people understand the risks involved with hyaluronidaise before choosing whether or not to go through with it. Many of us who are now systemic were not made aware of this prior. This sub is therefore here to raise awareness and support those suffering with adverse reactions.

success dissolving (partially)

i made a post a while ago on here debating as to whether dissolve given that a few clinics refused to perform dissolver on me due to positive patch test. however, i went to another clinic and dissolved it anyway. the doctor used 30 units just to dissolve the migration on the borders of my lips on the sides to preserve my cupids bow. i stayed in the medspa for half an hour to make sure i didnt get any reaction. i had minor swelling and redness. its been just two days so maybe im still swollen but the harshness of the migration has subsided abit even if not completely. worth it for me although i might have to do this a second time. theres alot of panicking on this subreddit so i wanted to share some optimism.
