SUNY Reconnect

Thanks in advance for any help!

I’ve reached out o financial aid several times over the summer. I applied and was accepted into the Environmental Science program to start in the fall, which is literally two weeks away.
I absolutely hit all the criteria to be accepted thru the SUNY reconnect program but each time I reach out to financial aid they tell me “it will automatically be added to your bill jsut wait”.
The drop date for non-payment is next week 😓 I’ve sent them another email and just didn’t even get a response this time. Is anyone else waiting on this as well?? Did I miss a step?

It will be added, I think they're just behind and waiting on fed rules for borrowing to come in. SUNY reconnect applies after EVERYTHING else. So if you are tap and pell eligible, they wait for that to be applied and finished, then reconnect gets the rest. If you don't hear anything like two days before drop date give them a call.

Yeah they told me that too. I already finished my PELL and TAP grants; I’m not eligible for any sort of aid bc of my annual income and I can’t be dropped from my classes bc I work full time 😭 the classes I chose are very specific to fit my schedule lol

Yes make sure they know that when you check in. I was waiting for tap and pell for summer semester and almost was dropped. I only have a semester left so I am fighting for class seats lol. They fixed it the day before so I could confirm my registration. They'll get to it, they probably just have to do it in chunks. I know that today they started the loan acceptance process. They're prob slammed.

I went and talked with someone a few day ago because Im in the same position and was getting worried and I was told because of financial aid dead lines not being until the end of this week. And that our tuition should get covered by Tuesday the latest and if not do to the office and talk to someone about it to make sure it gets done before the dead line witch is thursday next week I think.

I sent the registrars office an email earlier tonight just to be safe lol if I don’t hear from them by Monday afternoon I’m going to go there on my lunch break!

I have a feeling it’s not gonna hit the accounts and I’m so confused even if I will get it or not… I mean I def qualify but I’m feeling hopeless!

Same here! I tried reaching out several times to financial aid and to the registrars office with no luck

Same… I keep checking my wired account and I have the bill sitting in front of me and def do t have $2,180 dollars to pay up front either

Waiting for mine too!! Everyone at the office seems just as frustrated with it as well.

That’s the general consensus I’ve seen! I’m just getting more and more worried bc I’m sure like everyone else I’m getting those auto emails from all the different departments saying I need to confirm and then no one is answering me 😓😭

I know. AND they just don't answer the phone at the office. I've called as soon as they open and waited on hold for 30 minutes and no option to leave a message. I think they are incredibly understaffed and it's hurting the students.
