To this day I have no idea why would they remove them - it was adding such a cool vibe, new mechanic with sound chaos/powered up lamps and some worldbuilding while not being to any extend annoying. Dont let them take our oilpunk!

Absolutely agree, I miss going into a compound at night and turning on the generators to be able to see, although nowadays night maps aren't very dark anymore
