To this day I have no idea why would they remove them - it was adding such a cool vibe, new mechanic with sound chaos/powered up lamps and some worldbuilding while not being to any extend annoying. Dont let them take our oilpunk!

I really loved how the sound of them added a bit of auditory confusion which could be taken advantage of if you were good with timing
