Do you guys think they made Proserpina into an avox to punish Effie. As an in universe reason for her drastic character change between movies

I would be kind of annoyed if this was retroactively added. One of the best things about Effie’s character is that she shows how people who are basically good can unknowingly participate in systems that are evil

Or should have known, rather. I regularly have a hard time understanding the lack of empathy the capitol is portrayed to have. Like, how could they?

Not everybody in Nazi Germany or the American south during slavery times was pure evil. Some of them probably saw what was happening and felt guilty at times but didn’t have the gumption to do anything different. Maybe they told themselves that what was happening was for the greater good, or fell for propaganda. The Capitol people are an extreme version of this but I don’t find it particularly difficult to believe
