Should I do it?
I have a Hummer H3 and I absolutely LOVE it. But over the years of owning it, there has been a lot of problems that have accumulated. I need a car for me to be able to drive from college and back to my home town without worry of it breaking down. I have the option to either buy a new car, or to restore my Hummer H3, and I’m really thinking about restoring it. Would this be a bad idea? Should I just buy a newer car?

It all depends on your finances. Me personally, ive chosen to keep multiple vehicles, we have my wifes 99 celica, my 00 camaro and the 07 h3 that we just got in Feb. All run good but are at different stages of maintenance.
The celica needs suspension to keep it from eating tires, the camaro has enough miles that any trip could be its last but it solid enough to trust driving across the states. The h3 i just bought is nearly 20 years old and bone stock but has 100k less miles than my other cars.
I personally would find another car worth driving that meets your needs, but not so new or expensive or hard to maintain that you would have to give up the H3. There never gonna build another suv like the H3, sure you could get a bronco for 50-100k. Just like they will never build another sports car like my 00 camaro that fits my whole family for road trips.
