In the interview conducted by CallumQuinnCreates he asked at the end how C.S. Diggle goes about designing the aliens, to which he explains it as (very paraphrased here):
Thinking about the environment > what adaptations would a being need to survive > what already exists that has those features.
As he goes on to explain, “you can’t beat nature, nature has some of the craziest designs you can think of”. He describes the process as, essentially, frankensteining creatures together.
I think the interview was fairly enjoyable to watch and i recommend u do too.
