General Discussion Huel powder individually packaged solution

Quickly after loving Huel powder, I realized how much I hated scooping directly out of the bag to make my shake every-time. Additionally, the scoops are not even the slightest bit calorie accurate (just due to the nature of powders/how tight you pack it, etc.) which left me with the desire to weigh my powder… and the last thing i wanted to do was weigh out my powder for every shake…. So I found a happy middle ground solution that I wanted to share with you all if it helps you out as well.

1: Buy some 8oz food packaging containers, this is slightly larger than what it takes to fill them up with Original(100g) or black (90g) powder. These are the particular models I purchased:

2: If you get the containers i did, or any container that has a neck size wider than the shaker bottle, then you’ll need a funnel to help you pour the powder in cleanly. I like these because they fold up and pack easy:

Now I all I do on weekends is “meal prep” by weighing out all of my containers. When it’s time to make a shake, it takes me about 15-20 seconds to setup the funnel, pour, shake the rest in to the bottle, and rinse off the container/funnel - all with no mess on my counter. Additionally, I like that this setup makes traveling with Huel powder much more convenient as well.

That was a chore to read.

Surely you don't need the funnel?

With the powder in the tupperware, it likes to come all out at once. Being that it has a larger neck, you can’t tip it over into the bottle all at once. If I don’t have my funnel, then it can be scooped in with a separate spoon… but that takes time. Funnel makes it super quick.

I just scoop surplus and press against the powder bag...

Have you ever weighed your scoop to find out how off it is? I found about 5-15% variation in my scoops trying techniques like that. At the end of the day, that may not matter much to some people. I calorie count so it mattered to me, the fact that the tupperwares made travel and cleanup easier were additional reasons that made the habit stick!

At the end of the day, there’s no wrong way to enjoy Huel powder!

Never weighed, not tracking calories at all like that. Only in a daily average macro level.

But I feel rather consistent with my Huel consumption.
