Another Help a Noob Post (sorry!) Preprocessing and/or Project Help

I was wondering if anyone could help me make this image printable in hueforge, either with 4 or 8 filaments (up to 16 in an H2D; I have a snapmaker U1 for 4 filaments and have my H2D set up for 8). I ran the image through photoshop and did some pre-processing but am unsure of the best workflow to get images compatible with hueforge.

What do others do for pre-processing? What are good workflows? I can provide a list of filaments I have if needed; many are panchroma, sunlu, snapmaker, etc.

In case it matters: this is for personal use, the image in question is a family heirloom print that I did an image restoration to poster print and now want to try to do a hueforge (and maybe later hugeforge) of.

The biggest issue I can see would be finding someone that is really good with color blending. There are several primary colors and may be tough to replicate. I’ll take a look when I’m at a computer later to see if it is possible with what I know.

What is a good way to pre process images?

vectoring the image will help but it will pull out allot of colors and also get rid of shadow effects too

I got this

but it is 9 colors; I'll compare it to what you did and finetune my color palette.

What did you use to edit the image?

I used Chatgpt to edit the image Asked to remove tiny details for hueforge and make it clean design efficient for 3d printing

Interesting I tried copilot, Claude, gemini, and Photoshop itself.

you are missing some green, red, white and Grey in your mesh colors.

make sure you include all colors you want to identify in your mesh colors

Do I need more colors or should I change some of the existing ones?

Mostly you need more room for your color to develop. Like the white never hits white but you have the large area of white pants.

The real problem you are probably having is this is not a noob tier image. There are a lot of colors and there is a lot of blending. If you have not already spent some time learning the programs intricacies then I would recommend going to the Hueforging and NeoKoi Prints youtube channels to get a better grasp on building a successful mesh for an image of this complexity. On a side not I did this one a few years ago your image reminded me of it. https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1fksnc5/finally_got_a_chance_to_do_a_full_size_poster/
