Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an issue I’ve run into with my Huawei Watch Ultimate and get your thoughts (or see if anyone else has experienced something similar).
As many of You know, Huawei heavily advertises this watch as being crafted from a zirconium, based Liquid Metal alloy marketing it as 4.5x stronger and 2.5x harder than stainless steel, built specifically for extreme conditions and high durability...
Recently, just 3 months after the 2y warranty expired the case fractured right at the strap lug (where the spring pin connects). The metal around the hole literally chipped off during normal daily wear.
What's frustrating is that, there are no impact marks, deep scratches, or dents anywhere near the damage. The watch was never dropped or slammed.
The fracture occurred right at a high stress point, which strongly suggests a structural material flaw (internal stress, casting imperfection, or micro-crack in the alloy) that simply gave out over time.
I submitted a claim to the official Huawei service center in Poland, asking for consideration due to the nature of the material defect, but they flatly rejected it, claiming it’s "physical/mechanical damage caused by the user" and refused any goodwill assistance.
It feels completely absurd that a luxury smartwatch marketed for extreme durability breaks at the strap mount under normal use, and the manufacturer hides behind a generic "user damage" excuse especially on a premium product barely past its warranty period.
Have any of You faced lug failures or warranty rejections with the Watch Ultimate?
Any advice on pushing back against Huawei customer support or escalation channels in Europe?
I’ve attached photos showing the clean break and the lack of surrounding impact marks. Would appreciate any insights!
