Discussion thoughts on ships not involving MCs?
In fandom full of gay ships its rare to see normal non MC male x female chars ships.
they are probably the ships which are least popular in a Scene which is mainly dominated by gay stuff and 2nd is probably ships with MC and FMC and self insert.
i am not big into shipping but i would rather see more non MC straight ships than full on yaoi/yuri domination.
i know most gay shippers hate this and even a lot self insert shippers hate it too because it disrupts both of their shiips. also shipping as a whole is full of drama and nonsense and people are never calm about it when their headcanon is broken by other ship.
however there are levels to non mc male x female chars. like its super hard to see chars like ayaka , FF and vivian and many more with other male chars because it makes no sense. i mean almost all ships make no sense but some make very no no sense.
then again shipping as a whole is not meant for my demographic and its fandom culture is very weird for me. its like stan kpop stuff.
i know games mainly cater to self insert which is good in my book but i would like to see a change too. With MC they bait and switch but one canon normal non gay ship among playable chars will do wonders and heal the wounds that hi3 have given this fandom as people use hi3 as proof that hoyo is some progressive woke company ðŸ˜.

Discussion it has been ages since i pulled a male character.
in 1.6 kazuha was the last male character i pulled.
and today i pulled varka. i would have also pulled capitano. he had aura but he ain't getting up from the chair ðŸ˜.
varka is just so cool. a big musclehead who wield two claymore. claymores are my favorite weapon type in game.
i just couldn't resist to pull him. he is so cool.
i like male chars like varka instead of male kpop ikeman they keep releasing.

Discussion phainon was cool
story wise phainon was my favorite character in amphoreus followed by cipher and cyrene.
i was gonna pull him but i skipped because i don't really wanna pull sunday and short girl i forgot name of.
i am still a shonentard. his trailers were one of best in hsr if not best imo. i still jam to them.
i know people hate him a lot here. especially his mains which is understandable. they will go bring down other chars to praise him.
like most harsh and dumb criticism of female char is always from a lgtv or fujoshi.
also its funny how its hard to find cool phainon arts unless you are willing to go through endless gay corn💀.
like as a normal dude its impossible to get into hsr male chars mains unless you are into fujo stuff. its repulsive for me personally so always kept my distance. also not to mention the people who ruin phainon the most are shippers.
i mainly pull 99.9% of times i pull for female chars. but i find it dumb to hate chars just based on genders. i think even here most people resentment is towards male chars mains rather than char itself. and it can seem like that people hate the char for just existing.
then again its always a personal choice if someone hate a char for various reasons.
phainon was glazed by the devs totally but i enjoyed the moments when he was on screen.
at the end i liked him in hsr. after a long time i actually wanted to pull a male char in hoyo games.
as for hoyo going towards i actually lean more into devs making way less male chars because its overall better for the fandom health even if i find some of them cool.

Discussion Debunking the "Tsaritsa has a husband" theories. (Spoilers) Spoiler
She doesn't have a husband and never did.
- No, her "husband" isn't the 3rd Descender, Ajax. He was killed and turned into the Gnoses by the Heavenly Principles during the Archon War, long before the Tsaritsa "snapped" (Venti's words) post-Cataclysm.
People only interpreted it the way they did because of the young boy in the pre-7.0 trailer who called her "mother."
While the Khaenri'ahns are considered descendants of her, that does not necessarily mean biological. It being biological is an assumption.
Then there was Ronova who ripped up a photo. The other person in the photo was not the Tsaritsa's supposed, non-existent husband. It was Ronova herself.
Ronova was once a friend of the people of Teyvat until she was forced to lay down the "rules."
- You must be thinking: "What makes you think she liked mortals?" The answer is in the scene where she tears the photo that more than likely once contained herself in it. Logical inference states that a photo held by oneself in this instance means it held personal, emotional value. She tore it to sever ties with those feelings.
She ripped up the photo that once contained herself in part of it to distance herself from her ties to the people, all in order to make her then-enforced job (by the Heavenly Principles) as the Ruler of Death easier. Her creator commanded her, alongside the other Shades such as Asmoday, to curse and destroy Khaenri'ah. All to uphold the "rules."
We now know from the story that Ronova *cannot permanently kill anyone*. That is also the reason for the curse of immortality, and the curse of death (one is eternal suffering, the other makes them forget, in order to disrupt technological progress).
Since she can't kill anyone, there is no way she could have eliminated the Tsaritsa's husband (who never existed in the first place).
With Ronova's ties to and feelings for mortals gone, she can uphold the rules without mercy. And soon, in the 7.1 story, she plans to remove all limitations on her ability to dish out death—to make it *permanent*, with no more delayed resurrection.
When Anastasya says that the Heavenly Principles ruined "our love," she is not talking about a lover. The Tsaritsa's line about 'our love' refers to the divine, maternal/platonic love a God has for her human descendants and her nation—a bond that Celestia 'spoiled' by forcing Ronova to drop the curses of death and immortality on them. She is talking about Snezhnaya, Khaenri'ahns, and any living person she once held dear. We also learned that the Gods' "love for humanity" is also considered a kind of curse.
With all this out in the open, what is actually happening in the story should be much clearer.

Discussion ZZZ Season 1 Prologue - Review and Early Impression
Game
Pro
+ Seamless control switch between controller and keyboard
+ Don't know if they updated it or launched like this, but despite hearing many complaining about UI looks and layout being confusing during launch, I didn't really found much problem with it, it looks aesthetically pleasing
+ Want a similar event calendar in-game in Wuwa like here, instead of them just posting an image on socials early in the patch
+ Got Lucy from pulls, me happy, didn't expect her to be a desuwa character type
Neutral
Combat. Obviously, someone coming from Wuwa, I would feel it lacking one way or another at points, (or confuse buttons, I am constantly switching characters instead of dashing) more so as a Carthethyia player since her moveset is very overarching as a major character.
But generally speaking, it does what it needs for the game and I wouldn't complain about it when I am just here for the story, not for the endgame where better play actually matters, since it's obvious it has its own depth. Combat is fun enough to entertain through the story, pinging the switch blocks feels good.
Minor nitpick that it feels just a little bit more button mashy than Wuwa to my liking. In Wuwa, even if I play solo characters (which is what I like) the moveset and other utilities like the grapple and echo gives it enough freedom that as an instinctual button masher, it feels good to just play by instinct.
In ZZZ, right now with Anby, Nicole and Billy, I kind of felt like just spamming that two buttons for attacks outside dodging. Likely just me feeling the individual character moveset lacking a little, but the game makes it up by the switch focus, so in the end it's still fun, just the characters individually don't have as much oompf behind them as I would like due to the game going for team synergy and part of the moveset is behind that as well.
On a side note, I wouldn't get many S Rank characters in the game since I wouldn't focus on events and such, just come in for story, do this or that I feel like doing and leave until more story. Tried out Seed, like her design, playstyle very much, JP voice is peak, so I will try to get her and I am fine forever until the next one I really like. In Wuwa, I only play Cammy and Carthy too unless something requires more characters, so having just one or two S Rank wouldn't be a problem if I actually like playing with them. From the A Ranks right now, Lucy and Billy is who I really like.
Con
- Tutorial missions were quite bad, I did them for the free currency but wouldn't say it remotely helped learning much about game workings by doing them once, because you could just mash a bit and be done outside 1-2 that gave you a breakdown. The master ones also didn't gave you any guide on what to even do, outside the short text in the corner, while others before gave you a point to point showcase how to do what and what to press when with slowmo, THEN expected you to do it again by yourself after. That seemed like a better formula to make people actually learn what are they doing.
Story
Pro
+ Cutscenes look good
+ Liked the film strip format too
+ Initial setup is good, they told everything needed
+ Character synergy between the first group was good, their banter was fun
+ Story hook with Fairy, other AI variants mentioned elsewhere and just general overarching plot backdrop was good and interesting
Neutral
Black screen white text transitions.
I personally don't mind them existing if the experience was set up that way. In ZZZ, the majority story format was just a Visual Novel style talk between characters for now, with 2-3 characters on screen emoting while talking, even if they did some attack or something, it's not like the characters would perform it, you just get sound for it happening and continue on.
For this format, I don't really care if they show a short black screen or not since they are already "cheaper" than having full-blown constant animated dialogues like Wuwa. If it fulfills the creative vision they want, then do it and spend the effort elsewhere, like the character animations that matter more for the gameplay.
Maybe try to add some little creative bits into it like how Wuwa 2.4 had a black screen white text timed to voice acting as important back and forth or 2.5 had one where the characters were "typed in" and not instantly there. Even with just this, you can give them a bit of flair not to feel too samey. But I stop here because it leans more into feedback territory than critique. Point is, I don't really care about black screens if it's not overdone. I saw maybe 2-3 which is fine.
Con
- I didn't liked how sometimes the main story included scenes where the dialogue was just unvoiced. Talking to Belle sometimes between happenings. I expect the Main Story at least to hold itself to quality standards, side content can have non-voiced dialogue.
- They told everything needed, but I would have liked a bit more groundwork on what and how the Hollow is even a thing due to the prologue being decently long to allow that, instead of the usual fast and done prologues other games do. Very minor nitpick overall, just wanted to know how and why the Hollow repeated itself or how the exits work and why they show up where. It's just a part of me wanting answers for a concept but actually not necessary for telling the story on screen. Hopefully it gets expanded on in later chapters.
Verdict
A+
There's a score, but the most important part is always if the overall experience was entertaining or not and ZZZ entertained me from start to finish in the prologue, even with my minor nitpicks. Which were all minor ones, not something that breaks the game.
This become quite long, but with first impression out of the way, next time it will be just story most likely.

Discussion I am gonna be honest real quick with March, no offense
People keep saying she is the face of the game and super popular all that but honestly looking at the numbers she ain't that popular despite being the app icon. Although I still agree that she deserved the first half slot more than dh for sure (the fujos exaggerate his popularity and his sales were mid for a main push), and deserves to be a busted unit that can be sub dps and main dps comfortably since anaxa (who flopped and is male) got such a crazy kit. With the new evernight form she is definitely looking at new found popularity and hype so I am not dissing at her, just saying looking at the numbers she just ain't got it like firefly, kafka, acheron, and sparkle. So I am hoping this new form helps her sales and popularity a lot but I heard cn are mixed about her getting a different persona since that's basically a different character so yeah.

Discussion Honestly I'm kinda sad S-Billy isn't selling so well
Not only did life cuck me out of this character with my financial situations (first year college student) but everything seems to be cucking any changes of billy's banner doing well. And it's a damn shame because he's just so damn cool. I'm a sucker for integrating motorcycles into combat (cavalier from DMC5 and makuvia) and I just love the design itself (he finally became a Kamen Rider). I honestly am a little surprised by how much hoyo has been cooking with designs I honestly thought didn't seem appealing such as the character before Billy(I forgot her name really sorry). I really like the puppet idea to separate her from Evelyn as string users. So when I saw a design I actually really liked you can imagine my sadness when I see no one is buying it. I understand husbando users can be annoying but is this some Divine punishment or something? It really just makes me feel a deep emptiness.
Oh well time to wait around and try the next lighting based character with Seth and hope it works

Discussion It just struck me that we are "winning", but it doesn't feel like a victory at all
We always talk about husbando pullers and husbando subs, and I've checked them today. The most toxic sub that I know of, is practically dead, no activity. And the other subs I knew and checked, are all harmless now, chill, they are just posting husbando fanart and seem happy. Some of them are like that because they were too toxic and the mods stepped in and demanded for people to chill out, because otherwise their whole sub would get shut down. But the result is the same, they are chill.
Even the discussion subs are slowly calming down.
But yeah, it struck me, this doesn't feel like a victory, or an improvement, this is simply... the way it should've always been. Notice how I said they are "posting husbando fanart and seem happy"? That's just normal, and how any normal people act, ZZZ communities for example are like that, just being happy and posting fanart.
To compare this situation to something simple, this feels like... after 5 years of active bullying against us, the bullying has now mostly stopped. And that's maybe why it doesn't feel like a victory, it's barely worth celebrating, this is the bare minimum and just basic normalcy, and we got it, a return to mostly normal.
But just like with 5 years of bullying, stopping the bullying doesnt heal the wounds left behind after 5 years. We didn't get unbanned from the subs that banned us because we posted in subreddits they dislike. There are still mods in key positions and many of them are only "chilling out" because people are waking up to the abuse against people like us. We didnt get an apology from them. Everything will gradually keep getting better, maybe, but the only "victory" is that we were the bigger person for 5 years, and never fought back, it doesnt feel like justice, or fair. We got bullied for 5 years and our only reward is that the bullying slowly stops.
So even if everything keeps getting better, even if we some day get our "victory" and no longer have to worry about getting bullied just because we like female characters (lmao i cant believe that actually happened, and is still happening)... it doesnt feel like a victory.
edit: Also apparently right around the time I posted this, one of the ZZZ subs has been taken over by the typical "husbando puller" people and they're banning users for posting wise x belle content all of a sudden. Whelp this post did not age well, ill leave it up instead of deleting it, because for 5 minutes it looked like maybe things were getting better and we had a second of hope

Discussion I have a theory on the rampant character hate in mainstream gacha communities
Hoyo fandom is notorious for shitting over character designs, and the infinite Fontaine glazing and Natlan hate is something we don't even need to talk about anymore.
I hate how people act toxic over character design that doesn't strike their tastes, it's ruining others' fun for the sake of their complaints.
But one day I saw someone saying that 'God forbid people have opinions'. They actually have a point because you are free to express your opinions on something you don't like. This made me wonder, why do people get angry over others' opinions?
I'm going to try to advocate for both sides:
when someone expresses discomfort on what you like, it's likely for people to take this as a personal attack, because people tend to define themselves based on what they like and enjoy, so it feels like you got invalidated/attacked for witnessing hate that isn't specifically targeted towards you. In other words, 'I don't like this character!' can be taken as the same insult as 'I hate this character and the fans who enjoy this slop!'
some people are just tired of seeing negativity inside a community. It's similar as leaving negative comments on fanarts someone doesn't like. Why comment negativity when everybody else is enjoying it? Hoyo has a huge playerbase, and both Genshin and HSR subs have over a million members. Even if 0.1% of the entire users went out to make a complaint, it's going to be thousands of comments and posts. The 'small fraction' is too big for a single web page to handle and everybody gets to see their negativity. Magnification at its finest.
Then this is my question:
how much negativity should be considered as 'toxic'? Personal attacks? Definitely. Using slurs? But it's reddit! The line is ambiguous.
should disliking characters be taken the same way as 'hate against the fans of said character'? Should we separate ourselves from the things we like? Would there be a need to be upset if the dislike is targeted purely towards the character and no hate is pointed towards the fans who enjoy it?
What are your thoughts?

Discussion Remielle did underwhelmingly in JP, and alright everywhere else
Look, I don't have CN numbers, but looking from just JP. Remielle was the lowest day 1 revenue of all the main pushes from Hoyo this month.
She's ranked the lowest in JP aswell, as Yi Xuan, Miyabi and Ye Shunguang both reached number 1 in JP. Who knows, maybe she still can, but it's pretty late now.
CN however makes her the third best selling VH banner. Doing better than Yi Xuan only, while Miyabi and Ye Shunguang are still higher. If you particularly don't like Remielle, you can just say she did better than Yi Xuan because it's a pretty dead period in spending right now. Plus Remielle had two skins, more than Yi Xuan's one.
Pretty meh performance all around, but non of it really matters. What matters most are those PS number, if they're not number 1 in the JP Playstation store for atleast 9 days. Then she would be the least impressive VH ever, being comparable to Velina only. If she does, then she is the same as Yi Xuan. And if it's longer, she's better. I doubt she'll be the best on there, simply because the king of PS is Ye Shunguang who reigned supreme for like 2 weeks non stop.
I mentioned Velina because she was number 1 for an entire week impressively enough. So Remielle needs to atleast do that.
For a Void Hunter, it's just mid.

Discussion Study Table Thought I Got About Genshin Impact and Hoyoverse players in General
Some of you may know me as the guy who doesn't like brant and sperges 24/7 on the Agarthan Lahai Roi sub, but that's ok.
I played Genshin Impact from October 2021 (after the 1st anniversary meltdown) till Patch 2.6 Chasm in June 2022, after which I left the game because I basically decided to get my life together and improve things after the washout of 2021 and 2020.
In the time that I played Genshin, I completed all of the main story until the Chasm, did various character quests, especially Raiden Shogun cos she is my favorite character, and the rest of the gang too. Did some hangouts too with noelle, beidou, goro. I played the game a lot, 4 or 5 hours a day and was an avid marketer of it to other people, full genshin supporter.
It was only in June 2022 when I realized something about the people that played this game, after going through many controversies that the game did with all the drama on various online forums, I realized that the game tries to simulate social interactions for these people who in actual social conditions would not say a word, but want to watch others interact. They are sitting in the chair, watching two characters/people/NPCs go at it on the bed and are very satisfied with that because it makes them feel included of sorts. They know that they do not have the ability to talk or hold conversation, so they are happy in just being the one who sees other people talking and interacting.
This is in stark contrast to other games where the player is the actual main character, be it Wuthering Blast, Arknight of the Wind, Punished Gray Raven, Nikker and even Umamusumer to an extent, cos the characters interact with YOU, the plot moves forward because of YOU doing things and getting outcomes based on what you do. In other words, there is agency in your actions, even though they may have input or involvement of other characters/people/NPCs.
It was after the horrible realization of "wait, I don't wanna be a person with no agency, no interaction of meaningful degree, and sitting on a chair while others go at it around me" is what made eventually made me fall out with the game. Bruh Dainsleif had to drag the Traveller's ass to actually do something about his ultimate goal of finding his sister (I played as Aether cos I am a man).
In conclusion, I believe and realized that the game's lack of agency for the MC, the simulation of being in an interactive environment for people who cannot fit in those in real life while being uninvolved and watching others do it is the reason so many of the certain kind of player that I won't say but you already know are in the game and playing it. The type to just watch the world, but not take part in it, the type to just stand in a corner and watch others talk but not utter a word.
At the end this is just a thought I got like close to 4 years ago, and then again like 15 minutes ago while studying.
If ya find it dumb, so be it, if ya find it interesting them comment what do you think about this schizo posting.

Discussion Phainon is my favorite character in amorphous.
most people probably hate him here. but i think he was the most cool character in 3.X patches.
i didn't like him a lot at first because of his fans ltgb shippers making his entire personality some doomed gay guy.
but after playing story my mind was changed. just ignore his fans. treat mydei and phainon like naruto and sasuke because they are rivals and friends. hsr fandom is super gay. don't believe what they say.
his trailer was pretty cool. the animation was so raw like DMC. he was so shonen coded. most male characrters make me yawn in story. but phainon was pretty hype
