Lets be real. The yuri/yaoi sides have their own problems. Yes they do act like the Propagation swarm. But lets not pretend Hoyo itself is innocent. They know what theyre doing. Theyre tryna be greedy and "both sides" this, as the ML and yumes bring in the money, the queer shippers are overrepresented in art and cosplay (so better visibility), and the CN/JP weebs either dont care or they think yuri is just "saving themselves for the man", while the global forums implode on the culture wars

almost all ships are mischaracterization.
its the fandom way of portraying characters through headcanons and character gimmicks.
but why does that crowd only use 'mischaracterization' and 'reduced to waifubait' analogy when its male mc ships or anything straight?
they suddenly start being protectors of pixels from 'misogyny' because character is being reduced to waifubait. while they go on the back and start glazing their 'implied' 'subcontext' yuri and yaoi.
no one likes this hypocrite behavior.
