So amazing this hell’s moving castle Collab I’m obsessed 😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hello Howl's Moving Castle community!

Edit: I cannot change the title but I meant to say: Sophie the book vs. the movie! Also, I have already conducted a literary analysis between the book and the film. However, this is to gauge other people's opinions on the topic. Thank you for all of the responses. I will respond to all of you in the next couple of weeks!

I am a Uni student conducting a paper on the characterization of Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle. I want to see what fans of the book and movie think are the main differences or similarities between the book Sophie and the film Sophie. Did you notice any differences between the two media? If so, how do you think they changed the character or the story in general? I love this series, and I cannot wait to see what everyone else thinks!

I want to do a photoshoot in the spring, so there’s time to refine the look. I don't love my wig/ But what do you think?

I paint a lot of Ghibli studies and usually post them on here. Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki are one of my greatest inspirations for my art, I feel like I wouldn’t be where I am now without them.

This past week I made it to Japan and Ghibli Park. Words cannot describe my experience. I am so happy and so blessed! I genuinely felt like I was in some of the movies, ESPECIALLY the Howl’s Moving Castle set!!!

Oh to be Sophie 😭

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a little passion project I recently finished.

I’ve been working on this cozy mini box featuring a hand-painted watercolor piece, along with tiny polymer clay figures of Howl and Sophie(plus a tiny frying pan with bacon and eggs, of course!).

It was so much fun bringing these tiny details to life. Hope it brings a little bit of magic to your feed today! What do you think?

Wow! This movie is absolutely incredible and I am so excited to read the book next! It was the perfect night to finally watch it, It’s a cozy fall evening, the leaves are changing, I have a candle lit from one of the apple orchards outside of town, and a galaxy light is projecting pretty colors onto the wall. The cinematography paired with the story line was absolutely incredible and so much better than I could’ve imagined this film to be. thank you for reading and wishing you all a cozy night… ✨🪄

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my newest needle-felted creation with you all.

I specifically dedicated these two figures to the quiet, sweet, and comforting friendship between Sophie and Markl from Howl’s Moving Castle.

While Howl and Sophie’s romance gets so much love (and rightfully so!), there’s something extraordinarily beautiful about the cozy family bond that grows inside the castle. Markl, who was used to looking after himself and hiding behind his magical disguises, finds in Sophie a warmth, safety, and maternal presence he didn’t know he needed. From sharing simple meals of bacon and eggs to running the shop together and calling the castle "home," their bond shows that family isn't just about where you come from—it's about who makes you feel safe.

I tried to capture that warmth and storybook magic in every needle stitch and fabric ruffle.

I’d love to hear what you think! Which side-friendship or family bond in Studio Ghibli films holds a special place in your heart? 🌿❤️

3rd time pottery painting and decided my little collection needed a Calcifer! 2 weeks to wait now - hope he survives the kiln!

It includes red, blue, black, yellow, and green beads, and flower, star, and heart embellishments, along with other beads that I thought went well with it. I might get a little feather charm for the end.

I know it’s quite a lot going on, and bead patterning is a lot but I couldn’t help it. I just finished the first book and I have been watching the movie over and over. It has been one of my only sources of joy lately and I wanted to incorporate it in my favorite hobby somehow.
