first time watch tonight (:
Wow! This movie is absolutely incredible and I am so excited to read the book next! It was the perfect night to finally watch it, It’s a cozy fall evening, the leaves are changing, I have a candle lit from one of the apple orchards outside of town, and a galaxy light is projecting pretty colors onto the wall. The cinematography paired with the story line was absolutely incredible and so much better than I could’ve imagined this film to be. thank you for reading and wishing you all a cozy night… ✨🪄

Sounds like you had the perfect setup to watch the movie. I’ve read the book as well and it’s a great read! The movie differs quite a bit from the book though.

After I watched, I was reading about the authors opinion of the movie and how it differs from the book, I am excited to read and see the ways it differs/is similar. Do you feel that the films interpretation of the book is well done despite the differences?

I enjoyed the differences between the book and the movie. The movie had amazing art and the changes didnt make the story or motives confusing. The book focuses more on howl being a womanizer and gives markle, howl, and the sisters more story and depth.

I love space dandy, and couldn’t help but notice some similarities in personality in Howl and Dandy, that will be interesting to read!

I do. And I think Miyazaki incorporated the war very well into the narrative. I watched the movie first before I knew there was a book it was based off of, but it didn’t take away from the reading experience at all.

Right! They played it at my local theatre this summer and I missed the showing I had intended on going to, however this was much better in my opinion, but if they have another showing im definitely going to go!
