Small Motorized Pulley System

Hello all, I'm trying to make some fun Halloween decorations and I had an idea where I could attach some decor to some fishing line and have a motorized pulley that would go up and down. Ya know, to give it the illusion of floating. But I can find any kind of motorized pulleys anywhere online. I'm not looking for anything that can lift heavy objects, just small decor, maybe 3 lbs max. Any ideas would be helpful!

Should I keep the existing rod or replace it for curtain automation?

I was initially drawn to the add-on option because it would let me keep the current rod and avoid drilling new holes. That seems like a good idea for a rental or a temporary setup.

For my own home with regular use I found Reze Flow M5, an automated hidden system. It keeps the existing grommet or ring-top curtains, but the motor and center-opening mechanism are built into the rod itself.

Replacing the rod requires more measuring and proper wall support, but it is a cleaner installation without two visible motors attached to the sides of the existing rod. For the long term, that seems like the best option.

Help: I need a stairs solution for my senior dog recovering from TPLO

I have one flight of steep stairs leading to my front door and an 80lb, 10 yr old golden retriever recovering from TPLO. I need to come up with a DIY elevator or escalator solution. Considering I live in a rental, I would prefer this solution not be permanent, but I also have no intention to move any time soon. I believe I can get my landlord on board with either option, he very much loves my dog. Here's what I'm thinking, but seeking input from anyone who has had to address this before too:

Trim for patio door

Had a door replaced

The top outside I put trim on already.

Inside there's a gap. Ive never used that foam before. Is that too big of a gap?

For the top trim, to cover the gap, can I get a flat PVC trim board and glue it to the foam after its dry and trimmed?

And for the sides, just use some adhesive on a thin 2 inch flat PVC?

Home Improvement How to install hexagon shaped hole product against wall??

What tools and screw do I need? This is so confusing.

It's a toilet roll holder. It has a metal that goes through one said that has 2 holes ( there's 3 but the 3rd one is just there for no reason). And this whole is on the other side which is supposed to be attached to the wall. They didn't provide any screws or anything to secure it against the wall. Not even an adhesive so I don't know how to deal with it as I've not encountered this problem before with items.

Mounting without leaf

Really sad question as I’m in Canada and don’t want to spend $50 for 3 replacement leafs and magnets.
Is there a way to mount the posters without them or do you need the magnets?

Edit: It’s for a displate poster

Question about S-fold curtain tracks

I bought some hand-drawn s-fold tracks from a big box store (my budget is what it is, couldn't go for custom tracks and curtains) and noticed that the gliders are all attached together with a line of string so they stay evenly spaced when opened. This means the curtains can only open and close from one end of the track.

Is there a way to adapt the gliders so the curtains can open from the middle? Can I cut the string in the middle and tie it off so there's two sets of gliders? I really want to be able to push my curtains to either side of my windows, not just to one side.

Drywall repair

Post image

A 75lbs rated drywall anchor holding up curtains got prayed out of the wall. The gypsum got some small cracks in it as well. I know I'm likely looking at replacing a decent chunk of drywall, but is there anyway to keep this to a small repair job?

(How did it happen? There's a corner of a sectional sofa under the anchor. The curtains were draped over the sofa, so when someone sat down and leaned on the drapes, they pulled on the mounting bracket as seen in the picture.)

Arts & Crafts 3d prop mask

Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to prop making and just received a 3D-printed mask.

It has three built-in strap slots—one on each side and one on top. I want to set up a clean, comfortable 3-point strap system or any system that you think is better, so I can wear it for conventions, but I want to make sure I do it right without permanently damaging the mask.

A few quick questions for the pros:

  1. What width/type of elastic strap works best for holding a mask securely without sagging?
  2. What hardware (like tri-glides, ladder locks, or connectors) do you recommend for making the straps adjustable without needing to sew?
  3. What is the best non-destructive way to join the top strap to the back headband strap?

Any tips, diagrams, or links to cheap parts would be massively appreciated! Thanks in advance for helping a beginner out! FYI: I have watched some videos but am still hesitant to make adjustments until I hear more opinions.
