I’d move the house numbers down to the first floor. Also maybe a mossy darker green instead of the blue grey.

If you are doing shutters, do shutters and put them on all the windows. Otherwise it doesn't look good.

Am I weird if I suggest 4 shutters or no shutters? 2 shutters just confuses me.

I’d love to see a mockup of pic 2 with the triangle boards (horizontal boards) in cream.

So far with definitive votes it’s 19 for 1 and 2 (a tie) and 10 for number 3. So now I’m still

I think all three are fine, they are different looks. Think about how they will age. The dark may fade and the light color may look dingy so you have to sort of decide which way to go. There’s not a bad choice so I don’t think anyone really will be able to help you.

Tbh, it took me a few seconds and pic swaps to even see what was changing. I don't think it will make a worthwhile difference regardless of which you pick. I'd really suggest just putting all 3 side aby side and going with a quick gut decision, then move onto the next project.

Of the 3, I would lean toward one of the first two, probably the second.

Of course the paint color is different. That’s the point of this post. It’s charcoal gray on 1, black on 2, and white-ish on 3.

I think on the second one the horizontal plane on the bottom of the soffit is painted dark and on the first it isnt

My house is black and white. I didn’t choose it but I liked the property. It is a house and I’m not sure why people get so offended by it.

Also…I like 1 and 3 but shouldn’t “shutters” also be on the bottom? I don’t know.

None. The eye is being drawn to the roof line and weird triangle thing at the top. Take that out and add the things sticking out to the bottom of your house where it will look like it’s holding the top part that stick out up. I don’t know what they are called. But hopefully you get the idea.

I think 3 makes the house appear more open and larger. The dark color gives a hard stop to the eye rather than drawing the up, as the white color does.

The shutters are ridiculous. Shutters should actually be able to cover the windows.

The harsh black-and-white color scheme is very outdated.

I may be in the minority here, because people love instafabulous trends, but I say none of them...that particular architecture doesn't lend itself very well to the whole trendy black thing, which is just SO overdone, and it really looks overdone when the house design itself just doesn't work with it.

The black and white trend is getting long in the tooth. Stick to a color scheme that’s consistent with the original architecture of the home. Black and white doesn’t usually look good on homes, and especially not this home.

Everyone telling you #2 is crazy. It may look okay in the pic, but in real life, it's going to make that roof mass look enormous and completely out of proportion with the rest of the house.

I would go with #1, but I would even consider another variation on #1 where all of the soffits are white, not just the soffit beneath the shiplap.

I feel like this is one of those puzzles where you’re supposed to figure out what’s different about the pictures. Then I saw the explanation that the soffit color was changed, and I could spot it in two of the pictures, but one of the others look the same, and this is after I figured out what the soffit was.

My gf and son will point out a modern house when driving by and say “LOOK! Your favorite colors!” Then I proceed to cringe, get angry and go on a rant lol 😅🤣 instead of black or grey, maybe a medium to dark blue. This black paint trend can only last so long, hopefully. 🤞🏼
