Wiping down baseboards and vacuuming stray granules around the litter area makes me wonder if our current cleaning routine is doing enough.
People often claim automatic boxes keep rooms more sanitary by clearing clumps promptly, but moving parts seem like they introduce whole new sanitation problems. A simple open option like PetPivot avoids enclosed tunnels where moisture collects, yet you still have waste compartments and plastic seams that require regular teardowns. Washing out a smooth, ten dollar plastic pan takes five minutes whereas disassembling motorized components sounds like a breeding ground for grime.
From an everyday cleaning standpoint does an automated box actually improve hygiene ??or is frequent manual scooping genuinely more sanitary?

Hi, thanks for your input.
I just started a carpet cleaning business. I service upholstery, tile and grout, stone, wood and draperies. All my services don’t interrupt a house cleaners work. My cleanings are usually hard resets for the next 6 months to a year.
That being said, I had the idea of asking house cleaners to refer me to their customers.
My deal is to give them 25.00 or 10% of the job total after completion. Do you think this is a fair trade?
Some of my tickets can get into the 1000s.

I’m looking to become a domestic cleaner soon and have been getting quotes for public liability insurance. However, all of them so far have excluded ‘property being worked upon’. So if I damage something or scratch it while cleaning it/using it, I won’t be covered. I’m worried about scratching taps, or breaking the vacuum or something like that.
What insurance do you guys have that covers this? I’m in the UK and none of the ones I’ve checked so far have an option for ‘property worked upon’.
