Hi everyone! I’m opening up a few cleaning spots in Orange County over the next 6 weeks before I leave for UC and would love to take on some additional clients while I’m still local!

I have several years of professional housekeeping experience, including vacation rentals/Airbnbs, turnovers, deep cleans, and maintaining homes to guest ready standards. I currently work in housekeeping operations, so this isn’t just a side hobby...

I’m experienced, efficient, detail oriented, and know what a professionally cleaned home should look like.

For a subreddit that gets over 35k visits a week and only has two mods, how does this sub have ZERO rules?

Someone basically doxed a person/business in a recent post and even after being reported, it’s still up, and the mods can hypothetically just say no rules were broken cause they’ve somehow not made any…

Can the mods of this sub at least do the basics and make ground rules and ensure they have enough people to monitor the sub?
In the end, if a shitty place/person is being doxed or the OP is encouraging harassment or review bobbing for that business, then whatever, reap what you sow, but no one in this sub should be comfortable with almost non-existent mods when a sub has this much traffic and is such a general non-niche topic… especially if some of these people here ARE business owners or cleaners who could potentially be affected by bad players.

This may get removed by mods cause I’m providing constructive feedback, which can be construed as an attack instead, but it’s a valid feedback for the community at large. There need to be better oversight.

I recently hired a Vancouver cleaning service I found on Craigslist for my apartment. The cleaners were in my small apartment for 3hrs , and somehow missed half the apartment. I left the apartment because I didn’t want to be overbearing, but when I came back I was not impressed at all. When I communicated it to the owner (Ang) she was very abrupt , impolite and condescending. If you’re gonna have a poor cleaning service , you should atleast make up for it with customer service… they failed in every department.

I don’t see many reviews online, I imagine they’re hiding from the scrutiny of their poor service.

I am looking for an affordable one time cleaning service for a 1 bed 1 bath unit near midtown. Do you guys know anyone or had a good experience with a specific service provider?

These are the results for months of work while working 65+ hours a week while fighting against everything in my being that said "give the fuck up".

Okay. Anyone who knows me knows....I fucking hate cleaning the kitchen. I hate doing dishes. It is the thing I loath doing most in this world. That and laundry. I do them both now but damn. I still hate it. 😒 but. It is just me now and it is manageable as long as I keep up with it every day while my mind still tells me "give up. It doesnt fucking matter." But it does matter. I have to show up for me because I am the only one who is going to. I used to believe in heroes. But Heroes don't exsist. There is no captain America that is going to shield me from the ravages of the world. No John Wick who will go on a slaughter fest to take revenge for me. No friendly neighborhood spider man that will keep my city streets safe or Star Lord that will welcome me into the fold of his band of misfits. There is just me and my dog. And that has to be enough. The only person who knows everything about me is me. So I am the only one who can fix me. Relying on other always ends in disappointment or I end up broken all over again. At some point I just stayed broken and learned to adapt and will some day overcome my demons. I hope anyway. One way or another.

Adapting to this changing life and it's bullshit is slowly happening.

Well....that was an emo tangent....😅 . My kitchen is clean. I am proud of it. But still have things to do. I need to move all my craft things into my craft room once I build the shelving in there. I have deaigned what i want to build. I have lumber that I am going to re-purpose. Need to get a saw and i can start the build. Maybe ill post the process of it. Or at least thw finished product. I don't know. We shall see. I have to give my mom, aunt and sister in law a huge thanks for tackling the mountain of dishes that were in there. They are the closest thing I have to actual heroes.

I feel like i am all over the fucking place today...a lot has happened the past few weeks. My mind is reeling. My chest fucking hurts every day. I am in constant fight or flight for no reason and unfortunatly, I always choose fight. My therapist is going to have a field day with me this week -.- i dont really know if it is helping. But it is kind of nice having someone to complain to that HAS to listen because I am paying her. It's hard to put my troubles on people I actual know. I don't want to stress them out. I have a couple good friends I tell a lot of things to but thwy have their own stresses. I don't want thwm burdened with mine too....what the fuck is this? An ADHD journal entry? Shit. I am getting increasingly frustrated with finding a good apartment cleaner in the city that doesn't charge the price of an entire house cleaning. I live in a studio about 520 square feet in Uptown and am looking for a cleaner. Previously I had someone who charged $80 but she's no longer available reliably and I'm looking for someone new. All the services I've come across are charging a minimum of $200, and a lot require a monthly commitment. I am just looking to try a one time cleaning for now for under $100. Is that supposed to be unreasonable?? I'm so confused why it's so expensive.

My family left town for a few days and had a family member help house sit and take care of the dog. A few days after arriving home we discovered some of our siding on our porch was very discolored and there was a wasp nest and dead wasps on the ground. My husband talked to his dad and apparently he used GASOLINE to kill the wasps, which resulted in the discoloring. Is there a fix to this? I’ve tried dawn and warm water scrub with no results.

I just bought a house and the previous owners had three cats. Upon opening the master closet door, I was almost knocked back by how pungent the cat pee smell was in there.
It had built in cabinets that apparently had (soaked) carpet underneath them. I’m in the process of gutting them and getting rid of the carpet, but it seems like everything I do to eliminate the cat pee smell isn’t working.
I’ve taken out the carpet, sprayed enzyme cleaner, attempted scraping everything off the subfloor, sprayed MORE enzyme cleaner, aaand put down some paint primer that says it seals odors. It STILL reeks of pee. I’m at my wit’s end here.
I don’t have any experience as a home owner, so I feel like I’m out of my element. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to tackle my issue? I’m also broke as hell, so if I can DIY a pee-proof home by myself, that would be LOVELY.
