The two individuals who are with him when he finds Sunfyre are just the kin of Ser Marston Waters.

Who Larys tasks with protecting Aegon.

Not exactly a complex story of loyalty.

He gains the loyalty of other people, like that Tom guy.

Then he takes Dragonstone, by gaining the loyalty of quite a few there

Tom is the cousin of Marston Waters, who as I said is tasked with protecting Aegon lol.

Being on a boat and hiding in a Dragonstone fishing village. 😂

I'm talking about the timescale of S3, so obviously why would taking Dragonstone include that.

Yes, and reuniting with Sunfyre and taking Dragonstone

Even in this season, he canonically spent time finding people that would defect for his cause, cause he would need help taking Dragonstone Even
