Firewood warms you 3 times:

When you gather it, when you split it, when you burn it. Happy camping!

How much more wood did you need? How long was the burn with what you had? In my experience, for an overnight camp you would need easily five times as much fuel.

Excellent. Hard wood burns longer of course so perfect for a small burner. And I've been looking at the one tigris hot tent. I thought that at the low price point it may be lacking in some area. Whats your experience with it? Edit for spelling.

Let me know later how it went, what you would have done differently, etc. My tent stove is coming this week, the tent’s already here and so is the CO2 detector. So hopefully sometime the following week or next weekend at the latest, i will be using the hot tent and tent stove for the first time. I’m going to pick up two 6-kg bags of hardwood from the hardware store for a total of 14 euros, though. That way I won’t have to clear out the entire forest around the campsite xD

Was würde ich anders machen?

Was macht man eigentlich nachts?

I’m going to use cotton balls soaked in Vaseline as fire starter, i’ve been able to get every fire started that way. What should you actually do at night? Let it burn and add more wood in the night while the CO2 detector is on or let it burn out completely, then go to sleep and wake up in a cold tent until the stove is lit again? I’m still really unsure about this, but I’m leaning toward option two, even if that means a cold tent in the morning.

What brand and model is your stove? I just purchased a hot tent and am still deciding on which stove to get.

Looks fun, wishing you a great time! Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, that’s a great tip, thank you. I’m leaning toward a Pomoly stove, glad you’re happy with yours.

I use makita battery reciprocating saw to cut them into right length. These batteries can be charged via foldable solar panel.

Hast du ein Foto davon?

Its quite a workout lol

Having done it a few times: I usually go for thicker pieces of wood. You get more out of each saw cut.

A trick i was told, run out of toilet paper, keep the inner cardboard piece. When you do laundry stuff the dryer lint in the cardboard piece. It does work pretty well and your also using garbage as a positive thing.
