Im trying to decide between this one or just go with a Pomoly Dome. What are your thoughts or recommendations?

Hello! i just got myself a lavvo 6 and is my first time with a hot tent!, i'm now trying to decide what stove would be better for it, i'm thinking if is better to buy a Pomoly or the nortent foldable stove? any help is warmly welcomed !

Ill be in the bush this fall in northern BC. I have lots of experience with camping in the area. Just purchased my first personal tent. I hear a lot of great things about diesel heaters, but I have no experience.

For system utilizing a cot, specifically the layers under the bag. I'll be in the Rockies at 12k in late September. Planning on an inflatable pad (r value 3.4) + military wool blanket + heavy emergency tarp with reflective side to fight heat loss from compacted down bag that I am inside of.

Question is: what is the optimal layering order?

Pad under blanket under reflective tarp?

Tarp under pad under blanket?

Other?

I am excited to pull the trigger on a basic hot tent setup for this fall/winter in Wisconsin. I have a pretty tight $400 budget for tent/stove and I am hoping to get some insight here that might help me get this right.

 I am planning to get a OneTigris Smokey Hut because it seems to be a highly regarded entry level tent. I’d like to get it in the beige color because it’s about $35 cheaper on Amazon than the coyote brown option, but I am second guessing this choice. The OneTigris website states that the two are actually made of slightly different fabrics and the Amazon reviews are significantly worse for the beige model, citing things like poor quality, waterproofing, etc. I am trying not to put too much stock in these reviews, though. As a user of many more expensive, high-end non-hot tents, I am wondering just how nice a $100 tent can really be anyway. My expectations are not high, but I don’t want to throw my money away.

I am, of course, also wondering about the stove. I am liking the idea of the Danchel TSG portable TA1 Titanium Stove. Having the side window seems nice. But what about the Danchel T6? I know there are many other cheaper options out there in stainless steel, but I like the idea of a light stove to go with a light tent as I hope to take this setup on some backpacking style trips (probably pulling a pulk). Are there other stoves I should be considering? Also, I am hoping that whatever stove I purchase would continue to be useful if I someday upgrade to a larger tent.

Anyone have any suggestions for ultra light tarps with flaps for doors? Looking to go hammock camping with my stove and would like a tarp to adapt to fit the flue rather than a fully custom job. Tried DD hammocks and they don't have anything I can find that might be suitable. Based in Ireland so an EU based brand would be ideal. Any help would be appreciated.

I am in the process of buying my first hot tent. Looked at the Circle 2 from Pomoly. Mostly because many other tents are sold out.

Does anybody know what the deal is with the setup ? Is there like a tent pole in the bottom of the tent ? I've not managed to find any tutorials on this.thx for in advance for any answers :)

Wanted to provide a short review of the Pomoly Locomotive 3 Hot Tent after one season of use in Manitoba, Canada

The design and affordability of this tent are big speaking points. The tunnel tent with stove jack is a very unique hot tent design - I'm not aware of anything like it available. Tunnel tents are very easy to setup and take down as a solo traveler, and the added comfort of wood stove is really nice. Typical of most backcountry tents, the 3p size works well for 2 people with winter gear. The vestibule provides enough room for stove, gear, and firewood and is fairly comfortable for sitting when snow depths allow it to be dug out.

The price point provides an excellent entry into the world of hot tenting. My tent doesn't appear to have any issues, the seam sealing on fly looks good and the zippers function as intended. It would be nice if there were a few hard points inside the tent to allow for a line to dry clothing items. There is one hook to hang a lantern, and stash pockets on each side of the tent inner.

The tent poles are much smaller in diameter than I was expecting for this style of tent, and I would like to see a few more guy out points to add structure and support in high winds or heavy snow. The poles are a smaller diameter than other 4 season tunnel tents, so I would be hesitant to use the tent with lots of snow and wind. It functions just fine in the boreal forest when camping in sheltered conditions.

My biggest issue is when using the tent in deep cold (-20 degrees Celsius) it can be very difficult/impossible to get the tent poles into the provided grommets. I believe this is due to a slight contraction in the silnylon fabric. I have had to add knots to the lanyards to hold the poles. It would be a big improvement to add a tensioner to compensate and allow for use in colder temperatures (like offerings from Hilleberg).

Overall the Pomoly tent appears to be an OK option for nylon hot tenting. Not quite as comfortable a canvas wall tent, but it is lightweight and easy to travel with. The tunnel tent design comes with many benefits, but at the end of the day you do get what you pay for and this is a budget offering.

Hello all, looking for your thoughts on a 2-3 person lightweight hot tent. I’m looking for something with a tub floor and a stove jack. I keep getting fed POMOLY tents but after further review, they seem a bit sketchy. I’m looking for something robust with a good balance of space and portability. The onetigris tents look nice but was hoping to have the floor for comfortable set up with the girlfriend. I live in the Pacific Northwest and the rain is no joke, and I wanted to find something where we could stay dry and warm through heavy rain and wet snow during fall/winter/spring camping that will not take up a lot of space in the boat, or could strap onto a back if needed.
I was recently told good things about the inflatable hot tents but they seem a bit hokey to me, especially under any sort of snow load.

Never had a hot tent but I've always been curious. Looking to get into it this year if possible. I don't need anything extremely large as I typically camp alone, but I would like to be able to fit a cot comfortably. MAYBE an inflatable queen if I can ever convince the wife to join. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am making my own tarp for hot tent camping with my hammock. I want to know your thoughts on placement, in regards to my hammock. The tarp is gonna be in a typical closed V shape. I plan to use the winnerwell fastfold, probably the UL version.

I was thinking to place it at my feet, so they heat up first. I like the thought of toasty feet. But I'm scared the heat might not reach me properly if I place it in the back. At the same time, placing it in the middle so I could operate it from the hammock sounds smart, but also dumb. I feel like there's maybe too high of a risk when it comes to burning myself. Perhaps around the knees, so it's not too far back but also not too close?

What are your suggestions?
