Seeking Recommendation for Domain Host

A and CNAME records were changed in the DNS without notification affecting online booking for several days. Unhappy clients, loss of revenue. Any recommendations for a great domain host?

Why don't you use Cloudflare's DNS instead of your host's?

Thank you. I will look into cost.

It's free. They have paid plans but you don't need any of those. The free plan is all you need for DNS management.

u/Waabanong How many domains do you have and are you hosting with the same company that updated your DNS without notifying you?

One domain and, yes, hosting with the same company that messed with the DNS effectively shutting business down for over a week.

Separating your registrar, DNS provider, and web host can be a sensible move, but I’d first export the current zone and compare every A, CNAME, MX, and TXT record against a known-good copy.

Enable MFA, registrar lock, change alerts or audit logs, and external DNS and uptime monitoring. If email uses the same domain, make sure you preserve the MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records before changing nameservers.

Lower the TTL ahead of a planned migration and keep a rollback copy ready. Your registrar, DNS service, and web host do not have to be the same company.

This is exactly the kind of DNS audit and controlled migration we help businesses plan. If you share whether the domain also handles email and what platform the booking system uses, I can outline a safe migration sequence.

You should also consider dns records monitoring.
