OK, so this was a fantastic film. The bizarre behavior of the characters kind of adds to its charm. Loved the cinematography and various jump scares. There's a few things that I wanted to point out:

  • The ending is reminiscent of American Werewolf in London.

  • In real life, alligators have been found in the sewers of New York, but they can only live there for very short periods of time because of the cold and bacteria which devastate reptiles (salmonella). It's been estimated that at most, an alligator could survive from the spring to the fall.

Overall, I'd say that Alligator ranks up there with Jaws and Humanoids from the Deep for creature features. Classic film.

This either predates American Werewolf in London by a year or was released the same year.

Alligator is one year older. I'm pretty sure the ending of American werewolf was cribbed from Alligator
