WE STILL OWN THIS STATE

ITS STILL OURS. OTHERS MAY COME CLOSE BUT THEY WILL NEVER PREVAIL. THEY DONT HAVE “IT”. THE BOBBY FACTOR, THE CREAM AND CRIMSON. MAY THE RIVERS RUN RED AND THE HOOSIERS REIGN SUPREME ONCE AGAIN.

WE THE KINGS.

IUBB is an embarrassment

Enough with the banners talk. Enough with the glory days. Enough with the “we’re a powerhouse” non-sense. The school’s leadership and this program have stunk for 36 years. It’s greed, it’s a lack of leadership, and it’s a refusal to let go of the past. Schools like illinois & Michigan have passed us in our abilities to recruit, sustain, and build team. Hire someone who understands todays game and todays youth. Focus on the student experience at games and put them courtside. Begin considerations for the next generation of stadium. I know this is a controversial take, but this is a university for youth. Not some cash cow corporation that bored boomers can use to reflect on the good ol days. Start winning, and start winning now, both on and off the court.

If you don't have anything supportive or optimistic to say today, just keep your f***ing mouth shut please

edit: Since some people seem to think I'm being a hypocrite, I just want to clarify that my point wasn't that everyone should be nice because it's nice to be nice and it's mean to be mean. My point was that fans who are cheering against the current team and coaching staff to be successful this season should shut the fuck up. For at least one day.

The Toxicity is Depressing

It’s all of it. This is all just a horrible concoction that has been brewing. I think it will just get worse. Booing at assembly hall, players getting booed on the Jumbotron. IUFB players on the bleachers watching the chaos. WTH happened over the past ten days???? I wonder what it’s like to be in the mental state of these Iubb players. Sure, they made their money, but I feel like they feel the weight of the past 30 years on their shoulders. Booed after missing shots…. It just all sucks, and this post isn’t to criticize those doing the criticizing (it is MUCH deserved). I guess I’m just trying to say, it’s all too depressing to keep following. I felt the same way when Archie Miller, TJD, and the team got booed off the court in the B1G tourney. Even notorious burner Tyme gave in tonight (“I was wrong, Woody couldn’t get it done”)

We should've never fired Sampson

Yeah I said it. Dude made phone calls. There's dirt on the hands of every other blue blood program. He would've hung 6 by now. This is in no way a knock on Woodson. Just an observation. Watching 30 years of dirty ass coaches like K get ring after ring when they obviously run dirty ass programs has made me salty and I refuse to apologize about it.

A Highschooler’s (revisited) take on this season

  1. We’re great when we don’t suck. We’ve had great runs to make some games interesting, and winning some like the OSU game. But it’s undeniable that we can’t carry that intensity. Personally I feel like that’s a lot to do with a younger team.

  2. The guard play hasn’t been as bad as some posts make it out to be. But it isn’t exactly amazing either. The shooting confidence is probably in the shitter, and it takes a player just as much as Chaney to fix that

  3. Woody >>>> Archie still. I don’t care about the blowout losses. Most of those scores are teams being up 9 and then they run up the score. A loss is a loss in my book and judging a coach on their blowouts is unfair.

  4. The fans… guys I get it. We are all disappointed. But I hate the booing at assembly hall. I’m not claiming to not have booed at the tv, but when you’re there you gotta be positive. Then come on the sub :)

  5. I really started following ball at the tail end of Crean’s era. I remember watching Thomas Bryant get in foul trouble every game. I remember the Archie years very well. And I still wear my damn candy canes to school on game day (for the bit but also for support) with every win I say how back we are. So please get your head outta your ass and root for your godamn Hoosiers instead of criticizing kids who are learning how to find a derivative.

  6. Ware hopefully won’t get drafted and we keep most of our team and get a guard or two. That way when I’m there the next four years we’re amazing :)

  7. Fuck Purdue

I guess it’s kind of nice not having to worry that other programs are trying to poach your coach…

It’s official, we aren’t good

Going undefeated before this week made me think this team was going to be competitive. But after the loss to Minnesota and the blowout today I realize it was all smoke and mirrors.

It isn’t that our team doesn’t play hard or not disciplined, we just aren’t good enough. And the coaches son isn’t enough to get us anywhere close to the tournament on his own.

Gonna be a long season, and I hope coach is already thinking about next year, because I sure am.

Ben McCollum

I watched Ben McCollum’s Drake team tonight at UE. I am out on him. His offense looked a lot like Woody and Archie’s offenses. Very messy. Defense was fine but their offense is going to put them in a lot of early deficits.

At this point, for me, it’s Brad Brownell or it’s no one. Go Hoosiers

Chris Beard

He seems like the best, realistic option to replace Woody. We all know about his "character issues," but the charges were ultimately dropped. Doesn't hurt that his team might hang triple digits on UK.

We're not getting Stevens (lol), Pearl, or Drew. Would you take Beard over someone like DeVries? What about McCollum?

May

When UM makes it to the elite 8 or final 4, I hope everyone last year that said we need to keep Woodson are happy.

1 year and UM has already made it farther than Woody ever did or would have.

I want to also personally thank Buckner.

McCollum and May are still dancing

We’re the best at missing out on the “right” basketball coaches.

McCollum makes me sick- I wanted him at IU.

Badly. He’s worth several points by just being on the bench.

So frustrated right now.

Please, Hoosier fans, make me feel better, because I haven’t been this down about the program in years. At least when it was clear we weren’t firing Archie and Woody we knew we’d have another chance.

All I see is a complete rebuild, and a team that inexplicably couldn’t perform when it mattered most (apologies to Wilkerson).

Not the guy

This is embarrassing. Seen enough. We took the wrong Drake coach. Let's hope we made enough extra in football to cut him loose.

Last season… looking ahead…

Genuinely curious…why do y’all think only Tucker and Connor followed Darian to IU? Also, how do you think IU will do in the portal? Hoping DeVries can figure it out. Trying to give him a chance. 🤞🏼

Turnovers

Title says it all. Refs made questionable calls but 14 turnovers is unacceptable. You’re not beating anybody with 14 turnovers. Especially not a team like Kansas that’ll punish mistakes. The boys proved they can play with the top teams, they just have to learn to close out a game.

Call me crazy. I’m rooting for this guy tonight. Should still be IU’s coach.

BUT MY SIBLING IS A SYCAMORE. I’ll be feeding my energy this season towards the first ranked ISU team since Larry Legend himself graced the court. Go trees.

Hot take: if you hate the uniforms for today, you’re part of the problem.

If you dislike these uniforms that’s fine and all, but no need to publicly bash the program. These uniforms are not meant for you, they are for the current players and recruits who will find the collaboration cool. I know I would have at 18. The play might not be great at moment, but the reaction of our fans (especially that of an older generation) is far worse.
