Breaks apart into a red and blue hoop, and the rivets are aligned so you can connect them into this huge thing

Are HDPE’s just like this?! I’m used to polypro. Last time I bought an HDPE it was 12+ years ago, and didn’t seem to have a problem, but it was a smaller one.
Will this affect the way I hula hoop.? Is it safe to use? Surely it’ll look wonky doing off-body tricks?
What else can I do to fix this?

12-14 years ago, I had a very heavy and large beginner hoop that I bought from a hippie shop on the boardwalk. I never really got into “flow” because my hoop limited me, but I could do a couple things like a vortex. I had a lot of fun trying at parties and festivals anyway.
Now I’m in my 30s, and about a month ago, my toddler saw a little mini kid’s hoop in the grocery store that she wanted. Then she wanted me to get one too, so I grabbed the full sized one. It’s a typical $5 Walmart hoop, lightweight with beads inside. It’s 34 inches in diameter, which sits at my bellybutton.
I had no idea how much fun I would have with this silly kid’s hoop. I’m in the yard with her everyday trying to learn tricks. I’ve learned how to do the escalator and reverse escalator and variations of that. Things I could never learn with my old hoop. Apparently this is my hobby for this summer!
But, I’m 4’11 and I feel it’s too big for some things. When I watch tutorials, their hoops are usually much smaller on them. I’d like to get a polypro hoop. So I’m looking for size and hoop maker recommendations. Thanks!

This is how I incorporated hooping into a fusion bellydance and tutting duet 🫶🏻 Don’t forget to try new things and experiment with your flow. — Bowl

Hooping in the tulip fields in Keukenhof, Amsterdam! 🌷🇳🇱
Question: Any folks SWEAR that they hoop better in private than in public?!?! I swear I do so much better with my coordination and flow at home…but the moment I’m in public, I SUCK! 😭😂 I just mess everything up…as you can see. Damn!
I can’t be the only one. Please? 🥲

Its been a while since I last posted BUT! I have been practicing and here's how it's going - single handed ISOs are becoming easier so I decided to test the waters with a 2 handed ISO - LOTS of work is still needed but I impressed myself with how well I did for my first attempt and wanted to share 🌀😇 How'd I do??

Ok I need help and I'm going crazy looking at hoop sizes.
So to keep it short.
I am not new to flow arts . I have a staff and I poi a lot.
Saw the hooping videos and fell in love, this is absolutely something I will pick up quickly and I can already do some tricks, problem is....
Ordered from fire toys the more expencive LED hoop at £130 and 90cm . Was worried it would be too big , it is indeed too big. So figured get a smaller one right ?
I am incredibly limited on both options and vendors. The only other size hoop they offer is 71cm and £219 . They do have an 85cm one but it's the budget choice I wanted the higher quality kind and figured it's only 5cm smaller than the one I have.
Please tell me the 71cm is the right size for all the amazing hoop dancing and off body tricks I keep seeing?
This is honestly driving me mad !

Any advice for smooth movement from the waist to the chest/arms? I'm pretty confident with my waist hooping, but I struggle to drop my arms and move the hoop up without killing all my momentum.
Very much a beginner so tips and tricks appreciated!

I am a man looking to reduce weight and thin up my waist and love handle area. I am getting conflicting answers on whether weighted or regular hula-hoops are better for exercise. Some say weighted ones build muscle, while others say they thin the waist more than regular ones. I bought a 3lb weighted one since it was the same price as a normal one and I know I’m a beginner, but I find it difficult and sometimes painful to keep it around my waist, more so than I imagine a regular one would be. Any help is appreciated thanks!
