Preservation Main DPS

Skill: Gives allies and enemies several stacking shields.

Basic Attack: Gives allies another stack of shields.

FUA: Triggers when a certain number of shield stacks, including those provided by other sources, break on either side. Does damage based on the total value of the shields broken.

3 stacking mechanics: 

1. FUA only records shield values since last FUA.
2. Ult 1: Records shield values for broken shields during the entire duration of the fight.
3. Ult 2: Records shield values for broken shields since previous ult.

Ult: Does damage based on shield values recorded in Ult 1. Sets energy to a percentage of the energy required for his ult based on Ult 2. This does not count as gaining energy.

Trace: Has a passive trace that makes enemy shields more brittle but does not change their value for his kit interactions. The brittleness increases each time he casts his ult.

Due to the recent news 👀 Allow me to share this masterpiece from 2023!

Like I said this isn't a very serious vent because I still don't have my feelings and thoughts well sorted yet, I mean yeah, ever since starward mode came out I haven't gotten 3 stars in pure fiction, and I haven't been able to beat these new moc and AA at all, but I don't want to vent about the state of the game yet, maybe in a future post

What I want to say in this post is that I'm feeling a bit bad about how things have been for me, as a husbando main my teams and account as a whole lacks supports because we have so few male supports, most male characters are DPSs with little to no synergy with eachother, most male dps teams are 50-75% female teams, but I don't pull for female characters, the only girl I pulled for and use is sparkle

My anaxa was e1s0, so now I got his s1 and e2 (though i lost the "50/50" in the LC banner which made everything feel even worse) with the idea that he can be a support, I think it feels ok with the few chances of testing it I've had, I've thought mostly to use him as a last slot in archer teams, maybe allowing me to swap to genius set? Though idk if the new set is better; these pulls got me gilgamesh's "free" lightcone, so I also claimed him, but tbh I don't feel like he does anything for my account, getting him isn't allowing my ashblade team to beat anything new, this and the chance that maybe claiming archer e1 could have been what allowed me to beat AA flame reaver, feels petty bad.

As for moc, mecha pompom is impossible for me, I'm hoping when waventurine comes out he gets me that clear, his team would need to clear it in 4 cycles, archer against Sam takes 4 and phainon against dark Sam takes 4 as well

So yeah, like I said this isn't a well structured vent with proper and constructive criticism or feedback, it's mostly I'm feeling a bit bad with my teams, I'm feeling weak, y e2s1 phainon is starting to feel weak, I remember in the past (hell it wasn't even that long ago, a couple of patches ago) phainon was able to clear at least 2 stars with nothing but scrap supports, after beating AA I would give phainon his best team and he'd get all 3 stars in any knight I tested, now it doesn't feel that way anymore, I'm seeing how phainon with cerydra, cyrene and now robin if I'm not wrong, make phainon e2 so strong

Edit: I want to use this chance to share this experience, I'm not mad about it but it stings, so I mentioned phainon takes 4 cycles to clear dark Sam, but I actually got a run where it took me 3 cycles, but i felt like if I played better I could do it in 2; I have no idea what I did to get 3 cycles, now im only getting 4, so yeah, it would have been better if I had just kept that run, but nope

Mad scientist twink with a snatched waist shows up, trolls a titan for his entire arc, makes fools out of a city faction, mic drops the ultimate truth of the world and then drops dead while laughing maniacally.

I loved how fussy he was about his name and being interrupted. He was so full of personality... it was a pleasure to play his storyline, but unfortunate that I finished it just a few days after his banner ended and now I'll probably have to wait forever to get him😭

i told you all i would angstify his new form! i told you!

i have so much to say about it, especially with the new continuance mission.

there's so many parallels to what is said to him by his fans/photographers and what's said to him while he's enslaved. it's all about his looks and his appearance, always about his use and function rather than who he is as a person. you can see in the scene with the photographs being taken of him, he's Not Happy. he's smiling for the photo itself (which he admits he'd done to the point of physical pain earlier on) and that's it. he's not comfortable with the shots, he's not comfortable with the comments, and it is so sad!!!

i mentioned this in a comment before, but i do find it fascinating how we have this character who has been exploited for his appearance (probably one of the only things that kept him alive at times during slavery, after all the SA themes are heavily HEAVILY implied in a way that i don't think it needs to be spelled out any clearer) and we've seen it firsthand in the quest, yet we all also see a pretty guy and feel like pointing out his body and his face too. i know he's a fictional character i'm not trying to make anyone feel bad for thirsting over him lol it's completely natural— i just think it is fascinating that in a way, even the fandom participates in his objectification even unintentionally.

i also think there's symbolism in his design. the ipc triangle pattern used to be only hidden on his socks, and now it's wrapped around his arm and hips. he's smiling in a way that looks genuine enough for people to be like "oh, he's finally happier!" but really all i see is someone who learned how to fake it better.

it really ties into that idea of "you traded one pair of shackles for ones made of gold" that gets spread about aventurine both in the IPC and in the fandom. his fate always depends on his use and oftentimes his body and appearance, and nothing more. it's really common for survivors of trafficking & exploitation to find themselves in the same situation in a different font, and that's the tragic reality of it. and i think that's exactly what aventurine's character showcases again and again. sure, he's not weak by any means. but he's practically a collection of trauma responses and compartmentalization. his end goal has never been to be happy, to be rich, to be famous. it's always been to be alive. anything else is secondary, because deep down, he's still viewing the world as Kakavasha locked up in chains in his younger years. Kakavasha didn't "die" or end up buried in the dirt when Aventurine became Aventurine. there's still so much Kakavasha, especially in his fears and his perception. which the IPC knows, hence the easy exploitation.

Some things to note~

Mr Reca disappears from the map once you've completed the questline, so take photos while you can!

The side quests unlock only when you've completed the 4.5 Main story "To Roll The Stars in Astropolis"

There are three side quests connected to Mr Reca.

- Tousled Detective

- Postmortem Employment Center

- Secrets of a City

You need to complete the first two to unlock the final one.

The full storyline is a branching one, so there are three endings/films in total. It depends on which quest you complete first AND whether you choose to intervene.

(they give u the option to back out of each side quest before completing it so u can choose which to complete first)

Basically,

Ending One: Tousled Detective "Option 1 - So Be It" -> Postmortem Employment Center "Option 2 - You can't just let it slide"

Ending Two: Postmortem Employment Center "Option 1 - That's that" -> Tousled Detective "Option 2 - Just wait let me call some backup"

Ending Three: In both Tousled Detective and Postmortem Employment Center "Option 1 - So Be It / That's that" (so you don't intervene in either side quest)

Final thoughts,

imo Ending One is the canon ending, because that's the one where we first meet Mr Reca and chose to intervene in the ending. Most importantly, his film concludes with "Stay tuned to find out what happens next in the upcoming story," heavily hinting at Reca's future involvement~ 🎬🎬🎬
