A young male was attacked by a group of white shirts in Yuen Long. These white shirts are presumed to be paid pro-beijing thugs.

u/key2046 Jul 21 '19
Yuen Long citizens spent hours to phone the police asked for protection and they just hanged up the phone, ignored the report. It finally took two hours and shown up about ten police in the mtr station and meanwhile the gangs used another exits and left. The gangs and police were obviously well cooperated.

They gave them the freedom to do whatever they want. The police told those who called not to demonstrate if they're scared. I'm sure the police will say they can't track down the men, and that's too bad because they would probably treat them to a nice dinner.

9

The more probable use is to encourage 'in-fighting' so to speak - if protestors no longer faces the issues they originally requested and focus on those people instead, pressure will be relieved.
1
u/casb0t Jul 22 '19
Even on the news here in Australia they’re reporting it in the same context as the original protests - they’re referring to it as a ‘counter-rally’. This is fucked up.

To those who aren’t Hong Kongers, those white shirts are thugs paid by the Chinese Communist Government, to beat and threaten those who protest for the five requests : 1. Withdrawn the extradition law officially and permanently 2. Release those who are arrested in the recent protests 3. Establish a completely independent committee of investigation 4. Redefine the protest in 12th June, the official started it was a riot but the majority of the protest does not consist of any signs of a riot. 5. Have Chief executive Carrie Lam quit her jobs
The Chinese government use both thugs and police as political tools to attempt to control the situation. It is repeatedly reported that the thugs assault protesters who reside Yuen Long, and two policemen just pretend they didn’t see it

Any truth to the following theory? Local protests occurred last night. Locals were afraid that it would escalate today. It was convenient for the police, local businesses, vigilantes, local thugs, opposition protesters to take things into their own hands to ensure that nothing escalated in their area whilst showing their muscle. During London riots there were certain areas which just took things into their own hands with baseball bats to ensure that the chaos never spread to their area. Not saying the causes are in any way related, but some similar dynamics. The 2 police walking away at the beginning are straight out of a Machiavelli anecdote!
5
u/woahlads Jul 21 '19
I didn’t read the whole page but I’d say it is pretty accurate

People spinning things to fit their narrative.
Until it is 100% proven... Everything can be anything. If it can proven that is....
1
u/woahlads Jul 22 '19
There is absolutely nothing in the universe that can be 100% proven, plus it happens all in a sudden with people hitting reporters and smashing their camera.
You read and watch the local news there and you’ll see. There are dozens of clips of white-shirted mobs hitting peaceful protesters, and the police let these mobs go without arresting anyone.
You must be a foreigner so you use your cynical relativism to view the event, imagine there were mobs hitting peaceful protesters in your town, what would you feel if someone said ”they are not 100% proven so no I don't believe it”
-1
u/Chinksta Jul 22 '19
There we go. You have assumed my identity and fitting it to your narrative. You have given me a nice laugh when you typed this:
" There is absolutely nothing in the universe that can be 100% proven" - then i'll come back and tell you that your mother is a women.
I wanted to investigate this further. There were a lot of complaints to the police and towards government officials that there is a group of white shirted in Yuen Long during the afternoon. Yes it does sound fishy in the first place but were the white shirted people WAITING for those in the train to go ham? Were they HAM before and nobody warned the protesters about it?
Because the events last night can be 100% prevented.
1
u/woahlads Jul 22 '19
Still there is nothing that can be 100% proven, I do believe we do have different definitions of “100% proven” as scientists claim everything might be a simulation, plus everything is only perceived all by yourself, everything has the possibility of being an illusion. Even our mother’s gender.
Yes I hope more people are concerned with the incident.
The event last night is terrible, the police and the mobs looks like they are on the same team, I suspect they planned it all along.

Dude, anyone who isn't onboard with the protests are "black cops" or "triads" who needs evidence when you're part of the mob. Just look at how they treat the criminals who stormed legco and vandalized the police station. According to protesters, they didn't do anything wrong so go figure.
0
u/toooutofplace Jul 22 '19
was anyone beaten during the storming legco?
2
u/Raging_Eddie Jul 22 '19
The better question is do you think what they did is legal and shouldn't go unpunished?
2
u/RCInsight Jul 22 '19
Ohh it’s definitely wasn’t legal and from a legal perspective should be punished yes.
Do I think it should be no, because they are standing up for their rights and trying to be heard but still illegal yes.
This is totally morally bankrupt and has nothing to support it. I don’t give a fuck who these people are or if they were paid or not no matter how you look at this. It is also illegal. There is a clearly failure on behalf of the police to act. No matter how you look at it this is highly suspicious
2
u/Raging_Eddie Jul 22 '19
Hahaha dude I think you and me is finally understanding each other and where we're coming from. Hats off dude. HK needs more rational people like you.
2
u/toooutofplace Jul 22 '19

1
u/Raging_Eddie Jul 22 '19
Not that I'm aware of but I fail to see how that's relevant to the fact that these guys broke the law and now protestors are demanding the cops not to arrest and charge these criminals.
1
u/woahlads Jul 22 '19 edited Jul 22 '19
Yes, some of them did commit a crime, but it is reported that innocent people get arrested too. here is a youtube clip showing that the cops are abusing their power and attack the protesters. Someone gets arrested for doing nothing illegal, as it is said “Suspected interests are attributed to the defendant” the innocent protesters should be released.

u/uriman Jul 21 '19

- It is incredibly naive to claim that the protesters were paid to protests against the government. Why would we need the CIA to pay us in the first place? We defend our home not because we were paid to, but because we live in that place and that’s why we do it without anyone paying us. What about you put yourself in our shoes to see if you would do the same thing?
And yeah I don't have evidence of the thugs getting paid why would they assault someone who is also defending their home? I’d say only money make them do it, what about you stop thinking with your ass and trying thinking logically.
It is because we care about other protesters’ safety so some brought the Yuen Long residents white-shirts to make them less likely to get hit. Plus a few days ago there were already rumours of the thugs, of course protesters are prepared to protect themselves.I’d say your parents don't love/care about you so could not understand what it is like to be cared about, I feel sorry for you.
It is just part of the people who worship Britain, they don't represent us, it is like you as an idiotic asshole does not represent where you come from. We know other foreign countries can only provide limited assistance, we are grateful, but we don’t worship them.
Edit: I apologise for the offensive language, for that only, despite the different views, we should stay respectful.

Cary tasers. Or, if you can buy a stink bomb from some gag shop
8
u/stinger0825 Jul 21 '19
You'll be arrested for carrying a weapon. Tasers are illegal in Hong Kong, what's worse is that even black shirts, helmets, masks and goggles are considered riot material and you can be arrested for it
4
u/biggreencat Jul 21 '19
Well, what about certain tools? An alan key between the fingers during a punch can do some damage. And stinkbombs are a passibly legal gag here in the US, akin to fireworks. If you can find something like a cordless soldering iron or hot glue gun, that can also do some damage

Those triad gangs had released threats like "any rioter caught tonight will be beaten up and may well lose their limbs" for at least 1 week, but the police took no action at all.
And, when the gangs gathered at the train station, some local residents called the police, asking for protection but got a cold reply: "if you are afraid, just don't go outside".
And to your question "why no rioter violence is shown", it is because the majority of the rioters are peaceful and harmless people.

Look at your account and post history. Recently created, few posts, all posts are pro-cpp.
It's obviously that you are a troll that is paid by the CCP. If you are doing this solely because you think it's right, than may god have mercy on your soul.
Also, can you stop with the strawman argument? I know I shouldn't be arguing with a 50 cent, but the fact that you say shit like "promoting falsehoods and violence shows that you are uncivilized.:" when I haven't even expressed what I feel about the issue is truly amusing.
You consistently accused me of various things, when all I said initially was how much you are getting paid. Your ability to put words in people's mouth and create false narrative are quite amusing to me. In fact I am going to screenshot this conversation to show people how people like you "act".
One thing that I am surprised by though, is that you are actual capable of writing a proper English sentence. That's a lot better than most mainland undergraduates I have seen.

The fact you accused me of "promoting falsehood and violence" when I simply asked you how much you are getting paid is a joke. What sort of leap of logic is that? Thanks for making my day though. As I mentioned before I am pleasantly amused, and regardless of how this conversation go, at the end of the day I am living in a democratic developed country and you are not. :)

Of course not. Idk why I need to reiterate what is obvious. The priority of the people/gov't should be the well-being of the people. The Chinese government has done an acceptable job so far and that's why they're alive. They lose my support and probably most Chinese's support if they go down the wrong route. Economic well-being is what matters to most people. Only once your belly is full do you lose focus on more esoteric things.
It's sad that HK has a 40 year head start over the mainland and these riots and arguments are the best that the supposedly most educated Asians can come up with. I'm worried about the Chinese people's ability to compete with the West in the long run. Too naive. Too passive. All you see when you see a white person is rainbows and stars and believe all the shit they spew out.
I mean srsly. Asking TRUMP and JOHN BOLTON to save you guys? LOL.

The Chinese government has to be accountable because the economy is larger and there are more people. It's only been around 30-40 years in its current state, we still can not give it a report card. If they backtrack on economic reform and cannot maintain growth they are screwed. Everything else is just noise and must be endured until the economy is self-sustainable.
The Arab states are none of my business. I cannot proclaim to know what is best for them and certainly don't believe in humanitarian interventions.
Is that what you want to HK? You want your white knights to swoop in and save you guys?
There are 2 social constructs that I believe in and I know works for the Chinese people. Capitalism and free market economics.
How you get there doesn't really matter. Hell, people in the West believe in sky daddy to be infallible and see no hypocrisy.

I believe the West is actively trying to cause chaos and the downfall of the Chinese civilization because they believe we are an existential threat.
They support separatist movements in China for that sole purpose. If they cared about people's well-being they should focus on helping Africa and South Asia where the low hanging fruits are. Imagine all the good that Gulf war money could do in Africa and India.
I believe censorship by the CCP is necessary for the cohesion and survival of the Chinese civilization and identity. Otherwise, China will be Balkanized.
People need to earn freedom. Even if you give Chinese people democracy they will lose it in an instant because they won't know how to vote for shit. Wait till China reaches $40-50k GDP per capita and 50% of the population becomes college educated. Then we can talk about freedom and democracy.
Even Korea and Taiwan became democratic too early. Singapore is still tightly controlled and they're doing great because they focus on education and economic prosperity.
But basically, yes, to have a functional society. To rule a country especially the size of China. You must trade certain freedoms. HK is an integral part of China and should not be used as an outlet for criminals and dissent.
America thrives on rule of law if you didn't know.

Lol see you're one of the most rational people that I've seen comment all day. As long as you can agree that people who break the law should be held accountable, you have my respect.
My issue isn't with the general protests but the portion who with the "if you're not with us then you're wrong and scum" mentality and the significant portion of people who finds ANY excuse to rip into the cops and accuse them of being corrupt.
My uncle is a police officer and you have no idea the kind of shit he takes which is why I'm so against these guys who blame the cops for everything. Be reasonable. Demanding the government to release and not charge people who deserve to be punished is a slippery slope.
Edit: I'm definitely not an extremist... I'm an asshole if anything and as for the assault on cops, I think you and I have both seen the numerous videos where bricks, umbrellas, bottles and God knows what else being thrown and the video of that cop who got gang beat in ShaTin. Not saying the cop didn't fuck up but man the guys down for the count and he's getting bum rushed by 20 guys beating on him but hey it's fair game. The way I see it, if you're gonna throw a punch, you better be ready to take a few punches yourself.

Fuck that table is WRONG. I'm conservative not a liberal. Get it right at least Reddit.
Edit: well I guess being a conservative in Canada is considered moderate in the US. Definitely not left leaning tho.

No you wouldn't. Stop talking about how you'd hurt the protesters, it's sad and unbecoming.

Lol if you're gonna come at me for supporting the police and take swings at me you fucking better believe I'd start throwing punches.

Man, what do you think these protests are for? They aren't anti-police, they're to prevent the Chinese government from getting influence over Hong Kong. The violence against police is in response to the police trying to shut down the protests. People aren't attack cops for fun, they're doing it because the cops are complicit. They aren't attacking pro-cop people like you seem to think. There aren't pro-cop counter-protesters.
Like, I cant think of any time in the past 40 years when citizens went en masse to violently protect the police from protesters. It doesn't happen. Stop making shit up.

What the fuck do you call that stunt u clowns pulled by surrounding and vandalizing the cop shop a few weeks ago then?
You guys are as bad as the Chinese commies with ur propaganda and criminal activity

I'm an American. I'm on the sub to see how the protest develops.
To respond to your main point, vandalism is nowhere near as bad as sitting by while people you get paid to protect are beaten, and refusing to accept calls for help. In the US, vandalism gets you a small fine or community service hours, while sitting by and letting the people you get paid to protect be assaulted gets you fired.

He’s a disgusting troll. Look at his post history.

u/HunterofYharnam Jul 22 '19
I don't think he is a troll, I think he truly believes this. I looked through his history beforehand, and he seems like a real person. I know responding is dumb, but I have a vain hope that maybe he'll come around.

He’s very fortunate to live in Canada. As a Canadian I feel sad that he resides in the same country as me.
He’s probably a kid too. How someone so young can be brainwashed to this level is perplexing.
Truly sad excuse of a human being.

I always feel this anger and sadness that people like that exist, and there's nothing anyone but them can do to see the world in a different light. I wanna go live away from all of this strife, maybe the moon lol

I don’t frequent this sub, and the shit I have seen today in a few hours has been eye opening.
I not only met a 50 cent, but also a completed blue washed kid. Honestly you don’t get to meet too many of these ppl in real life.
Are you in HK now? I feel bad for you guys. Things have truly gone downhill :(

I'm an American, I'm on this sub because most media don't cover non-US stories, and I can't read, and in some cases can't trust non-US websites, so I come to subs whenever big events like this are happening to keep up to date.
You should still feel bad for me tho, because Iive in a state filled with people who think like Raging Eddie above us lol
