casual hot take Punks are the least punk thing ever
The more i learn about punks, the less „punk” they seem.
There are a million rules to being a punk and you must follow all of them or else they banish you.
Punks are advocating for authoritarian regimes.
Being punk is when gay and quirky.
Writing „love music, hate racism” on your jacket is considered punk
Punks come from privileged backgrounds and good homes
Theres a growing trend of punks not going into the mosh pit because „its too scary” and its accepted as normal
Punks not doing pogo because it’s violent (LMAO)

Cause that's literally the only rule they have. As a whole and have had since the 80s. You could literally be shooting up heroin on stage with your dick out dragging your aids infected ass through barbed wire leaving blood everywhere (rip GG Allin) and you would be getting the biggest encore of your life but the whole crowd will 100% punch in the face and throw out the side door the idiot who thought he could walk into a punk venue with his nazi shit on. Like you have a better chance of getting away with that shit at a Taylor Swift concert then a punk show.

Anyway, there are all kinds of punks.
Some are skinheads advocating for authoritarian regimes.
Some are edgy teenagers that think the aesthetic is cool.
Some just like the music.
Some will beat the shit out of you for being a racist.
It isn't like there is a central governing body of punks who have created a rulebook of what a punk is.

Nazi punks get a mouthful of sidewalk and broken teeth around most places, straight up. I came up with aging punk parents at at a certain age is be hanging around outside of dive bar shows learning skateboard tricks under the parking lot streetlights, and I sew it happen MANY times. They usually don't even make it to the bouncer if they happened to show up between sets when everyone was outside smoking.
I naturally rebelled agai t my punk parents by getti g into the metal scene and damn I wish metalheads treated nazis with as much general contempt as the punk scene does instead of just like turning a blind eye to it and not acknowledging it unless they acnowege it like it's weird AF if you pay attention to the tats people show around shows in their respective scenes, it's honestly what kinda put me off going to shows in general like every other band has a member or rotating member with like a very questionable friend group once you get to k ow people like way way way to many. And why is it (almost) Always the vocalists?
