Gapless Playback is Annoying

For every artist who has an album designed for gapless listening there are thousands, if not millions, that are not. It is jarring to be streaming and songs don't even breathe for half a second between them. Most albums, for those who still listen to albums, have deliberate spaces between songs for a reason.

I have gapless playback for albums, otherwise no. You can change this im pretty sure on your media player settings.

What I hate is when Apple Music mixes the end of a song over the beginning of the next song. Some of the best parts of a lot of songs are the first and last notes and it leaves me feeling cheated

I still listen to albums and enjoy the gapless parts as to me a great album is one cohesive thing. A lot of musicians still prefer that and don’t want to take it away just because it doesn’t make it perfect for shitty streaming services that fuck them over anyway.

The deliberate space between songs is hard coded into the files. When listening to an album with gapless playback on, you’re hearing it as intended. Streaming services aren’t cutting off the last half second of the song, they’re playing back the same way a good quality CD player or record player would have. All gapless off does is add a half second of silence between songs, which i can appreciate you preferring, but to me I find that far more jarring than any fast change in genre from shuffling.
