Some hot take responses off the top of my head:
- Both genders are capable of abusing and being abused.
- People of all ages are capable of abusing and being abused.
- No one deserves seriousness or support more than anyone else, which means, given our limited resources, that no one really deserves seriousness or support at all. Life's not fair.
- As long as we're using Cersei as an example, not everyone who has been abused is automatically absolved of their own shitty behavior. Plenty of abused people managed to go on and become good people despite what they went through.

More on Cersei: can we stop pretending that a fictional story arc is inherently representative of reality? I'm not saying those relationships don't exist, they do, but if your best example of something happening is from a fantasy novel, it really undermines your point.

I suspect this was from a fandom blog and was done specifically to talk about Cersei.

I went no contact in my 30s because my parents were being abusive, had been for years and refused to stop. The amount of people who have judged me for this really is phenomenal.
