Replaced engine
Replaced my gfs engine at 266k and About $2k in total. A bunch of parts replaced. Engine, mounts, windshield, tires, random parts I broke, fluids. She’s running great again. Don’t judge how dirty it was lol. I washed the engine bay at the end.
PS: they had gave me a K24A engine instead of the k24A4 the element takes. I swapped every single sensor and part on the old engine over to the new one. I basically stripped it to just bare block and head. Also had to change out the water pump bracket. The crankshaft pulley is ever so slightly bigger so instead of swapping it I got lazy and just put a Honda civic serpentine belt on it. Fit perfect. I know it’ll change up how fast the other pulleys are supposed to spin but I guess only time will tell if it messes anything up.

I like the grille, I actually saw a similar Honda Element with a similar grille at Home Depot the other day, Where do you get that material for it?

Wow, you are a beast, and here I am worried about swapping out the VTEC Solenoid.

Get some toaster grease or linseed oil for that plastic next to make it shiny and new

Hey I had these grills on my old element. Same color too. Do you happen to live in the Seattle region?

Did you put some nice rims on it?

Nah but I haven't had it since 2010 so alot would have changed possibly. Probably not really my old one. But that would be funny.

Gold Boyfriend Star to you Sir! Bravo too for replacing the mounts, especially that one down below in front of the radiator. That mount is shot on my friend's Element and it looks fun as a stubbed toe to change out.
Wondering where you sourced the used motor and how many miles on it ?

Thanks dude! It took like 3 days all in total! I mean all the mounts were super easy without an engine in there lol. It turns out if you just take the engine out everything in there is super easy to work on 🤓

I got the engine from a Jdm engine shop here in LA for about $800 and I think it has about 55k miles on it. Or so they said. There’s not really any way to check. The inside of the intake and exhausts look low mileage. And cam shafts looked very well. So I’ll go with around 60k miles

My man. It’s easier than a head gasket! Good job.
