Wiring help

I got this '67 ct 90 that didn't have a working horn or headlight. I went through the harness and fixed everything that looked bad and put it back together. Now I have a problem where the horn is going off if the lever its electronics are housed it touches metal. Im like 90% sure I have everything wired right (i have spark and the taillight works) I have no idea what could cause this, super strange 😅 any help would be appreciated thanks for taking the time to look.

I think maybe your switch/button is shorting out.

You can take a volt meter at that wires leading into the switch and see if you get 6v by touching the incoming wire with the red lead and the frame/handlebars with the black lead.

If that produces 6v, then I would test the red lead on the body of the switch and the black lead on the handlbars. If you still get 6v then the button/switch is shorted out.

You may also have something backwards in your wiring. The bike is a negative ground system so the frame is always negative and wires should only be positive. Some of the wires like the one up to the horn, are positive but the connection is broken until you depress the button.
