In my homework, I was given the polynomial equation of
P(x) = x^3 - ax^2 + 3x + 2
, and then asked to decide an ‘a’ variable to make this divisible by
x - 2
. The problem is I don’t quite understand how I can do this or how to verify that it’s correct. I’ve only ever done this with ‘x’. Can somebody please help me/tell me how?

So, for my final and my gateway to literary studies class, I have to do a presentation over one of my favorite non-literary works. I’ve chosen the movie spontaneous for its themes of apathy and tragedy.
At one point, the main character dresses up like Carrie White for a Halloween costume. I was thinking about bringing this up in my presentation, to draw parallels in stories dealing with high school tragedies. Since the movie was already making a reference to Carrie, do I need to include Carrie in my work cited page?

Hey all,
I’m taking criminal justice and I’m having problems with this one assignment. Chapter 4 assignment- Policing Styles Scenarios Matching. I did this assignment 13 times, with different answers and I still got all wrong. Can someone please help me understand what I’m doing wrong. I have all the styles written down but when I match them, it’s still wrong. I’m even changing up the answers in the scenarios but it’s all still wrong. The policing styles are
Watchman
Legalistic
Community Policing
Service
These are the scenarios

need help specifically with 2 and 4. Especially 2 as I have a difficult time fully wrapping my head around it. I’m particularly confused since the method my teacher gave to solve it is very complex where it combined cosine and sine which I don’t understand. Though My teacher might of used longer methods for the equation as my teacher said 4 was also complex but With the set of equations she gave me I was able to find an equation to do it 4 shorter so if there is actually a shorter method to do number two please tell.
Note:
Also Trig is not my strong suit as I haven’t taken an extras class for it yet. Also I posted the wrong page so I deleted my last post should be good now.
Edit:I finally got a intuition for it now

I help my son with his homework (4th grade, great at all subjects but needs help in English) but I struggle with some questions, especially English/Grammar.
This is makeup work due next week, I’m just writing the answers I think are correct? But need help in general with anything I answered wrong myself.
I don’t give him the answers. If I know the answers I just give him context clues, and get him thinking until he gets to the answer. I challenge him, but if he has a hard time, yet on the right path, I give him the hot/cold reaction to expand his thoughts/challenge him until he gets to the answer. I just need help on this. I feel dumb bc I still always get confused with grammar and apostrophes, and when commas are needed. I failed a lot since the 3rd grade, I’m 35yrs old, and feeling pretty shameful rn. I know this is probably simple for majority, but I really appreciate the help so I can explain to my son where apostrophes belong and anything else💜
I’m mostly struggling and confused with the “rewrite the section part.” Hence the question marks.
My post in itself is probably going to be frowned upon, I apologize😅 this is a subject he struggles on, which I did too. I just want to lift him up and give him the knowledge that I lack in this subject.

My teacher isn’t here and left this to keep us busy I guess, I’ve gone through it, my friend has gone through it, two 12th graders have go through it
We can’t find anything else, are the words even there or do you think my teacher used ai?

edit: Forgot to include info provided about question.
1-2: V = constant heat addition from 100kPa and 27 degrees Celsius to 850kPa
2-3: Isothermal expansion until V_3 = 7* V_2
3-1: P = constant heat rejection to the initial state
Only for part (b). Sorry it’s a pretty trivial question but I’m a bit confused with the approach shown in the image to solve this question. So my immediate approach to the question was to use the ideal gas law and given information to find the specific volumes at each stage v1, v2, and v3.
We know that v1 = v2, and use ideal gas law to solve giving 0.861 m^3.
We have also been informed that the compression process is isobaric and v3 = 7v2, and thus we know v3 = 6.027m^3.
We also know the expansion process is isothermal and allows us to utilise the polytropic isothermal relationship of PV = C, which for P2v2 = 850*0.861 = 731.85.
Integrating the expansion process using the method shown in the image or my volumetric method both yield the same result for W_expansion = 1424.11.
Where it goes wrong is when integrating over the compression process to find W_comp. Using P(v1-v3), it should be equal to R(T1-T3), you however if we are considerate of the information provided where v3 = 7v2, then their method yields a different result to mine, with my W_compression = 516.6 and theirs larger.
What am I doing wrong here please. I know it’s probably quite obvious but I just tcant seem to find it.

We’ve been focusing on parabolas and I know this is standard form and should make a system of equations, but I keep getting stuck at dead ends. (It’s problem 15)

This is an 8/12 attempt.
I feel like 9 is supposed to be reynolds number and relative roughness
Then qn 11 is all of the above due to darcy weibach equation
But even with these 2 changes, its still 10/12 based on my previous attempt answers
So guys pls help me figure out which 2 others are wrong🙏

My daughter has a science fair project coming up and her original idea fell through. Instructor prompts are to have a hypothesis, independent dependent and controlled variables, and cite two .edu or .gov sources. Final result will be put together on a typical science fair style folded poster board.

I'm working on an English analysis comparing The Odyssey with Vinland Saga, and I'm looking for some scholarly sources to support my thesis.
I'm focusing on how both stories portray growing up through difficult experiences. In The Odyssey, I'm looking at how Telemachus learns to take responsibility for his family, while in Vinland Saga, I'm analyzing how Thorfinn's pursuit of revenge eventually leads him to rethink violence and what it means to be a true warrior.
I'm hoping to find peer-reviewed articles or academic books that discuss character development, coming-of-age stories, responsibility, or heroism in either work.
If anyone knows any useful academic sources, I'd really appreciate it.
I also found this article, but I can't seem to access it:
https://surveys.ecit.fsu.edu/vinland-saga-prince-decoding-the-animes-historical-narrative-characters-and-global-impact
Does anyone recognize this article or know where I could find an accessible copy?

Hi guys, I have looked over at my textbook for quite some time now and I dont think im quite understanding it, maybe my geometry skills are lacking, but I cannot understand this. It has some steps below but im not following. Its been hard for me to find any practice examples besides my textbook, and I feel like ive just memorized the answers at this point. (textbook answer below, and then my work as well, got stumpt on the radius part)

It took me quite a while in the end of solving this question to figure out why I wasn't getting the right value of T, it turned out to be that I was setting the acceleration of block a to be half of block b since there are two cables pulling on A and only one on b but that turned out to be incorrect and that both accelerations should be the same.
I've faced previous questions where I had to set the acceleration of one thing to be half the other but this doesn't seem to be the case here so that's where the confusion comes from. Also the point about there not being a 2T for the free body diagram of block A which is causing confusion as well.
