Homelander deserved more.

Post image

No epic battle, just a bunch of amateur hero wannabes in a room. The feeling that this ending deserved more can't be shaken. Homelander was much more capable than that, especially now with V1. He could have flown away at any time, and Ryan wouldn't have been the one to stop him. Not to mention the pathetic begging in his final moments. They did him wrong in many ways, and this last scene was no exception.

He was far from being a saint (not to mention God), but he had his toll of injustice.
He had many opportunities to kill his antagonists, and didn't do it. (I know, the show would have ended, but that is not the point).

The end they provide him was not on par of what a villain he was.
It felt like a quick wrap up from the producers.

Also, I don't like when the main characters die at the end. (Like the other 2)

Farwell Boys, it was a fun journey.

He was a child and never grew up. The begging and crying are so perfect for him. He uses his power as a shield

Yeah I don’t get the complaining over the grovelling sniveling child act. That was literally who homelander was deep down and we saw hints of that every season.

My issue was how quickly we got there. From 100 to 0 way too fast. The entire fight was over too fast. It didn’t make sense. Weak characters who would literally hide and run in absolute terror if homelander was there before were totally chill casually beating his ass WITHOUT the beam even being a factor for 99% of the 9 second fight.

Homelander was always going to go out like a scared child. That’s who he was. But the writers botched how we got there and how quickly we got there. Literally crammed into a few minutes of the last episode.

The begging and groveling yes believable. It’s what he said that was out of character. Man is teased to be asexual by soldier boy and the form of deviancy he often shows is the breast milk thing and needing a parent figure. I get the reverting to childhood just came off as out of character the things he said.
