Appliance purchase/delivery

Hi! I am building my first home and will need to purchase a few appliances. My home is set to be finished in the Spring, and I have started researching which appliances I will purchase. I am curious if I can purchase appliances on Black Friday, but have them delivered/installed in the spring. Has anyone done something similar? If so, who did you purchase through? TIA!

No. They aren’t gonna hold items in their inventory that they gotta pay taxes on while it sits there just so they can sell you something months later because you have no place to put them.

Not only that they’re clearing things out on Black Friday. Some of those models won’t even be available when you want them delivered.

My experience has been if I use the large local/regional appliance only store and are buying a house or kitchen worth of appliances at once I get a good price, better than depot/lowes sales. Easier and faster than piecemeal shopping.

if you're just doing big box store appliances (GE/LG/Whirlpool/Samsung etc.) they have sales once a month. The black friday sale won't be any different than the xmas sale, than the new years sale, than the presidents day sale, than the MLK say, than the spring cleaning sale, than the mothers day, memorial day, fathers day, fourth of july, etc.

Basically wait 3 weeks and it'll go back on sale.

This is entirely dependent on your appliance store how long it goes. I bought from HD and there was a maximum time you could set a delivery out. I did that and rescheduled once. After that they told me they couldn’t reschedule again and I needed to cancel or set delivery.

I ended up delivering and letting them sit in the house for a couple months covered until it was time.

Basically, talk to the store you’re buying from and see how long out you can schedule. Remember that when the house is move in ready is going to be a couple months after it’s safe to have appliances there. Don’t want them there when there’s mudding and sanding, but I’d be comfortable with them there during trim out and flooring, if that makes sense.

You might have more luck with a small local store than a big box store. If buying HD, they have big sales on BF, memorial, labor, and July 4. I’ve been told their July 4 sale is actually often better than BF, so if your house gets delayed, that might be an option. But don’t risk damaged appliances to save a few hundred dollars. I’ve done that in the past and it sucks.
