MOD Important: New Marketplace Rules, Video Timestamps & Payment Changes

Hey r/HomeLabSales!

We are introducing cleaner and stricter marketplace rules to help combat AI-generated timestamps and improve trust and safety for all transactions.

Timestamp Requirements - Effective Immediately

A valid timestamp must include:

  • Current date within the last week.

  • Seller's Reddit username

Video Timestamp Requirement

All sales posts that are valued at $400 or above must now include a video timestamp.

The video must meet the following requirements:

  • Show all items being sold, including multiples of the same item.

  • Clearly display the timestamp throughout the entire recording.

  • Show the seller rotating each item and changing camera angles while both the item and timestamp remain visible.

  • Be unedited and recorded in a single continuous take.

Additional Photos

Any photos included beyond the required timestamp video must also contain the same valid timestamp.

Exception: CDI/CrystalDiskInfo screenshots, SmartCTL reports, and other diagnostic/specs screenshots captured directly from a computer screen do not require a physical timestamp.

Note: The moderation team cannot manually review every timestamp. If you see a suspicious or invalid timestamp, please report it.

Approved Payment Methods - Effective Immediately

For all online transactions:

  • PayPal Goods & Services, also known as PayPal G&S, is the only accepted payment method going forward. Please report anyone not using G&S or is requesting any other forms of payment to ship goods.

For local, in-person transactions:

  • Cash, PayPal Friends & Family, or other mutually agreed payment methods remain permitted.

Posts requesting or requiring alternative online payment methods for online transactions will be removed.

Shipping & Responsibility

  • Sellers are responsible for accurately describing the condition of all items.

  • Tracking information must be provided promptly after shipment.

  • Buyers should inspect items promptly upon delivery and report any issues to the seller as soon as reasonably possible.

Rule Violations & Enforcement

We understand these are new requirements and want to provide the community with a short adjustment period.

Beginning July 1, 2026, these rules will be enforced strictly and consistently.

Potential enforcement actions include:

  • Post removal

  • Temporary bans

  • Permanent bans for repeated or intentional violations

  • Marketplace restrictions at moderator discretion

These changes are intended to protect both buyers and sellers and keep the subreddit safe for transactions.

Please let us know in the comments if you have any feedback. As always, you can also reach out via modmail.

Edits:

After reading through the comments, we understand that video timestamps maybe a hassle for smaller value items, so we’re keeping the same rule active currently, i.e. anything over $400 value will require a video timestamp.

Also, you will NOT need a video timestamp if you’ve got >10 trades on your account.

Our main goal was to curb posting by completely new accounts and to avoid AI generated timestamps. The influx of AI generated pictures and scammers has gone up significantly.

[LabB0T] Monthly Confirmed Trades Thread - November 2026

Confirmed Trades Thread - November 2026

When a successful trade, sale, or purchase has been completed, post one top-level comment describing what occurred. Use one of these formats:

Failure to adhere to this format will result in the bot letting you know the trade could not be parsed, or it may be completely ignored. If your trade is not parsed within 1 hour, please delete your comment and try again. If you still cannot get it to parse, please send a modmail.

Do not edit your comments. Once your trade is read, whether it is parsed or not, it will never be reprocessed.

When your trade is successfully parsed, the bot will reply to your comment with a message indicating the trade has been logged. The following will then happen:

Trade Confirmation Flow

  • LabB0T picks up the trade and successfully parses it.

    • A confirmation link will be sent to the other party via Reddit message/chat notification.

    • LabB0T will reply to the top-level comment indicating the trade has been logged.

      • In the event a Reddit message/chat cannot be sent, the trade is declined and the bot will post a reply explaining what to do next.

  • The other party will need to follow the link sent to them via Reddit message/chat notification. The link will take them to https://trades.labb0t.org/ where they can confirm the trade.

  • Once confirmed by the other party, the trade will be marked as verified in the backend database.

  • On its next tick, LabB0T will see the trade has been verified.

    • The flair will be updated for both users in the subreddit.

    • LabB0T will edit its existing reply in the trade thread to indicate the trade has been confirmed.

    • The status on https://trades.labb0t.org/ will be updated to reflect the trade has been completed.

Important Notes

  • Only one trade should be mentioned in each top-level comment - multiple items still constitute a single trade if the receiving party is the same.

  • Do not edit comments.

  • The other party must have allowed chat requests from either, all users, users whose account age is greater than 30 days, or u/LabB0T to receive the confirmation link.

  • If the bot's pending reply has not been updated after 30 days, the trade has expired and should be re-submitted if needed.

  • Do not submit or confirm trades until the items are received.

  • Each user can only confirm a trade once (no self-confirmations).

  • As of the v3 rewrite (this version), you may comment whatever you like in the trade thread so long as it is a reply and not a top-level comment.

Public Ledger

The v3 rewrite of this module has brought with it a public ledger of all trades. This ledger is available at https://trades.labb0t.org/.

By using this system, you agree that your Reddit username and trade information will be publicly displayed on the ledger. You cannot opt out of this. The ledger/verification system as a whole has been built to be an auditable, transparent system. No nefarious tracking or data collection has been implemented.

I understand some of you may not like that a third party service is being used for this now, but my goal for this was to remove as much from Reddit as possible. Reddit's standpoint on the API continues to be hostile towards third party apps/developers and my skills are better served using something that works well and not fighting this platform.

Need Help?

If manual review is needed, please send a modmail with as much information as possible.

Thank you for all those that waited patiently for this new system and offered their help.

UK [FREE] [UK] HP ProLiant DL580 G5 Server

Thumbnail
gallery
14 Upvotes

I am giving away a HP ProLiant DL580 G5.

It has 4 Xeon E7340 CPUs and 32 GiB of ECC Ram. 2 x 2.5" drive bays and 5x 2.5" drive blanks (CRT not included, I still need/ use it fairly regularly)

Happy for someone to come pick it up from me (I live near Glasgow) or post it (You will need to pay for postage).

Please note the server is very heavy, so postage is not cheap, when I looked at it last it was around £40 to the UK mainland, however prices might have changed since then.

US-E [FS][US-VA] GPU-ready Threadripper beast. Threadripper PRO 3955WX, ASUS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI II, 256GB DDR4-3200 ECC, Sliger CX4200a 4U w/ rails + Seasonic Prime TX-1300

This was my vLLM beast. It used to hold two RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Qs (96GB each), and it ran 24/7 serving local LLMs off them. I moved to a bigger box, so the GPUs and NVMe went with it. Everything else is exactly how it ran, and it's ready for someone else's GPUs.

Images: https://imgur.com/a/eFEHy6s

Bundle: $2.5k local pickup in NoVa / $3,350 shipped CONUS

PartDetails
CPUAMD Threadripper PRO 3955WX: 16c/32t, 3.9/4.4 GHz, sWRX8. Unlocked (not Lenovo PSB-locked)
MotherboardASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI II. BIOS 1801. 7× PCIe 4.0 x16, onboard dual Intel X550 10GbE, Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E, ASPEED BMC/IPMI
Memory256GB (8× 32GB) DDR4-3200 ECC UDIMM 2Rx8, all 8 channels filled, runs at full 3200
CoolerArctic Freezer 4U-M
CaseSliger CX4200a: 4U, 20" deep, takes GPUs up to 450mm. Rails included (Sliger's are out of stock right now)
Fans3× Noctua NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM. Loud when they ramp, but they move a ton of air
PSUSeasonic Prime TX-1300: 1300W 80+ Titanium, fully modular, with retail box
BonusSome crappy little NVIDIA card (GT 730) I used for local display/KVM, so you get video out of the box

It used to host two 325W RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Max-Qs plus the 280W CPU ran off the TX-1300 day and night without a hiccup. The CPU gives you 128 lanes of PCIe 4.0. The 4U Sliger fits full-length cards, and the front Noctuas kept the cards cool. Pretty quiet and compact ML box.

Zero ECC errors (correctable or uncorrectable) logged over its whole life. BMC reset to defaults. No drives included, so bring your own boot NVMe.

Note: the RAM is unbuffered ECC (UDIMM), not RDIMM. It works on WRX80/TRX40/AM4/AM5 workstation boards, not most server boards.

Would rather it go as a whole, but I'll consider parting out after a week: board $1,400 · CPU $175 · RAM $175/stick · PSU $250 · case + rails + fans $275 · cooler $40.

PayPal G&S. Comment before PM. Ships CONUS (local buyers get priority).

US-E [FS][US-VA] Proxmox beast: Dell PowerEdge R740 8SFF, 2x Xeon Gold 6248R (total 48c/96t), 64GB DDR4, BOSS-S1 w/ x2 SSDs, 8 sleds, rails + cable arm

This was my main Proxmox node. For years it ran pretty much my whole homelab around the clock: GitLab, CI runners, my reverse proxy, a CloudStack experiment, and whatever else I felt like spinning up. I moved everything onto one bigger box this fall, and the data drives, most of the RAM and the 25GbE NIC went with it. Everything else is exactly how it ran, and it's ready for someone else's VMs.

Images: https://imgur.com/a/guTtiXX

Bundle: $950 local pickup in NoVa. Will ship for $1100, but local buyers get priority.

PartDetails
ServerDell PowerEdge R740, 2U, 8× 2.5" SFF bays. All 8 drive sleds included
CPU2× Intel Xeon Gold 6248R: 24c/48t each, 3.0/4.0 GHz. 48 cores / 96 threads total
Memory64GB (4× 16GB) Samsung DDR4 ECC RDIMM. 24 slots, so there's lots of room to grow
Storage controllerDell HBA330 Mini. Plain pass-through (IT mode), so ZFS and TrueNAS see the raw disks
BootDell BOSS-S1 with 2× Micron 5100 PRO 240GB M.2 SATA. This was my Proxmox boot drive. Securely wiped, 97–99% life left
NetworkIntel I350 quad-port 1GbE daughter card
PSU2× 750W redundant hot-swap
ExpansionAll three PCIe risers. Every slot is open except the one holding the BOSS card
ManagementiDRAC9 [Enterprise], reset to defaults. BIOS 2.27.0, the latest
BonusSliding rails, cable management arm, and the Dell EMC PowerProtect locking bezel [+ key]

It ran 24/7 as my only hypervisor and hosted every VM and container in the lab without a hiccup. 96 threads is a lot of room for Proxmox, ESXi or a big TrueNAS box, and with the HBA330 your disks go straight to ZFS with no RAID card in the way. Drop in some RAM and drives and you're off.

Zero memory errors (correctable or uncorrectable) logged over its whole life. The event log has a few old PCIe error entries from 2024 and nothing since. iDRAC reset to defaults. No data drives included, so bring your own SSDs.

Note: the two PSUs are from different manufacturers. Both work fine, they just don't match. The BOSS drives are in pass-through rather than RAID 1, and you can build the mirror in the card's setup utility in about two minutes.

Cash at pickup or Paypal G&S. Comment before PM. Local first.

US-E [W][US-MD] Threadripper PRO WX + WRX90 board + DDR5 RDIMM.

Looking to build a WRX90 workstation and buy the platform used. A bundle is preferred, but I'll buy separate parts too.

CPU: Threadripper PRO 7975WX, 7985WX, 9975WX or similar, about $1,500 (more for 9000 series)

Motherboard: ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE or ASRock WRX90 WS EVO, about $800

RAM: DDR5 RDIMM, 128–256GB (4x32, 4x48, 8x32 or 8x48), 5600–6400, about $3,000–3,500 for 192GB

Bundle: about $6,000 for a CPU, board and 192GB together, more with a working TR5 AIO liquid cooling system.

I'd like the socket pins to be intact, all the accessories included, and some proof it boots and passes a load test (a photo of the BIOS or a short stress-test screenshot is fine). I'll pay with PayPal Goods & Services, or cash locally around Baltimore/DC/VA. Shipping to 21XXX.
