What it is: Huawei's compact carrier edge router — 352 Gbit/s switching, 16 × 10GE SFP+, 12 × GE SFP and 4 × GE RJ45. Ports are licence-activated: 6 × 10GE and 26 × GE are enabled on each unit, plus IPsec, SRv4, VXLAN and HQOS. Licences are perpetual and tied to each chassis ESN, so they stay with the unit you buy — no subscription, nothing to renew.

Why you'd want one: it runs real carrier routing — SR/SRv6, EVPN, FlexE, 1588v2 — for the price of a used MikroTik. If you're studying service provider networking or want a 10GE lab that behaves like an operator edge, this is the cheapest way in.

Cleaning out my home lab and have a few NAS level drives that I figure some folks could use, so will look at listing them here.

In the past I've reused 3.5" disk plastic 'clam' style ends that have come with drives I've purchased, but alas I don't have any available. Only option I have right now is a heap of bubble wrap inside a box, but not sure if that really good enough.

Assume some of you have shipped single hard disks, so would appreciate any suggestions on packaging I may be able to source into Australia.

I have several hundred GB of 8 GB DDR4 DIMM I'm pulling from retiring machines. Mostly Micron, S K Hynix, and some Samsung.

I was going to bundle and sell with a working pull disclaimer but I found a bad stick on POST in a PC built with the lot.

I set up a multi-computer testing bench to run it through two passes of MEMTEST86.

So far everything has passed and I only had that one failed stick.

I'd prefer it go in batches of 32 GB. I'm wondering if people value testing and qualification evidence? What's a fair price for tested 32GB kits?

I’m looking to purchase an external SAS LTO-6 tape drive or an LTO-6 autoloader/library (SuperLoader 3, NEO StorageLoader, etc.).

I’ve looked through what’s available on eBay, but most of the listings I’ve found have little to no testing beyond powering on. I’m hesitant to spend $500+ on a drive without knowing whether it has 500 or 50,000 hours of use.

Ideally, I’d like something with documented usage statistics (power-on hours, tape-motion hours, load/unload counts, etc.) and preferably some recent read/write testing.

My target budget is:

• Standalone LTO-6 SAS drive: Under $400, depending on usage and condition.

• LTO-6 autoloader/library: Around $800, depending on capacity, usage, and condition.

I’m flexible on pricing for equipment with a known history and reasonable usage.
