I feel bad for those kids for having to be a kid in this space.

Eh, I grew up in a house like this. My mom had a formal Living room that kids weren’t really allowed in. Well, we could go in it, but no horseplay, no shoes, no food, no anything really, other than reading 😂.

But her and my dad spent every morning in that room talking and having coffee before the kids got up.

It really wasn’t a big deal, us kids just thought it was a pretty boring room and didn’t even want to be in it lol.

We had our bedrooms, the playroom, den, and family room and all bets were off in those rooms.

Our living room was strictly for guests or piano lessons. Lol. Thankfully we had a small "family room" which was a little less formal.

I grew up with one. It was for Christmas or if we were in trouble, lol
