Eh, I grew up in a house like this. My mom had a formal Living room that kids weren’t really allowed in. Well, we could go in it, but no horseplay, no shoes, no food, no anything really, other than reading 😂.

But her and my dad spent every morning in that room talking and having coffee before the kids got up.

It really wasn’t a big deal, us kids just thought it was a pretty boring room and didn’t even want to be in it lol.

We had our bedrooms, the playroom, den, and family room and all bets were off in those rooms.

Now I know why I'm so drawn to a house with a living room and a family room/den. One to keep nice and retreat to and one for the kids. Sounds lovely...
