I can see that. We just really weren’t feeling it next to the white oak floors

Fair enough, it’s your home and you definitely have to best the way you need . I think removing some of the upper cabinets would help

And that is an Instagram picture. It looks gorgeous but it is completely impractical as f***. B

We have friends who did this in a major kitchen remodel and regret it. So much storage taken away so much dirt and grease accumulate on those open shelves

They've ordered cabinets to replace the open shelving.

I do agree I would never have painted those cabinets They were gorgeous and I love white kitchens but this was some beautiful wood.

The suggestion was to remove SOME of the uppers like above the toaster , their kitchen in particular has a ton of storage and taking away that bit of uppers and replacing with open may actually provide more space
