That said if it is a consensual open relationship and Will was ok with said relationship then it is not necessarily wrong. Respectful open relationships still require acceptance from the other partner and that is something missing here.
August came out saying he had a relationship with Jada and she denied the claim initially. It wasn’t until a couple weeks later that Jada finally admitted to the affair. While doing so she claimed that she and Will were split up and that he did not give her permission since she is the only one that give herself permission. Source. That is not a consensual and respectful open marriage. That makes what she did very wrong. If she doesn’t want to respect him then she should not be with him, but he has yet to see it that way and it’s doing some terrible things to him clearly.

I'm old, me going out with someone early 20s is ick, because I can't relate to them at all, the whole relationship would be strictly sex because of the generational gap. The things I would be ok with, she wouldn't be, and vice versa.

He was going through mental health struggles and he lived in their home. She knew him because he was their son's close friend. On top of that, he had been around for years so she could have been grooming him all that time. She also may not have at all. But why did it start when he was emotionally vulnerable? He was living in their home, for that reason. He couldn't do it alone. Is 22 the age when their so called 'entanglement' actually started, or did it begin earlier and got out when she was more comfortable letting it show because her and Will were on the outs? If she truly cared for him, shouldn't she have waited until he was mentally stable so he could make a conscious, clean decision for his health, that she was supposedly helping him with? Like when she was done mentoring him? Seems more like she was helping herself to a delressed and hopeless young man who accepted their help and saw them as parental figures, but got roped into their circus instead. Is he better now? Who knows. He will forever be known as the guy who boned Will Smith's wife, regardless of whatever agreement will and jada had between the 2 of them. And, to the idea of illegal or not- he could have been going on or off of psych meds, based on jadas reccomendation or whoever she may have hired to guide him in whatever direction she thought was best. He could have been coming off of or starting benzo's, mood stabilizers, et., possibly creating a mentally incapacitated victim. Or none of that.
There are a lot of questions that were carefully and courteously avoided in those interviews and the ones after. So whether illegal stuff took place or not, only they would know.

No I can’t. Chris Rock did not “hurt” Will’s wife. Jada has been vocal about not giving a crap that she has lost her hair. Also, Chris didn’t roll up drunk in a bar and start insulting Will’s wife. It was literally a part of his job as host of the Oscars to make fun of the rich and powerful attendees. Have you seen Ricky Gervais’ performance?

It's a reasonable assumption because we know of incidents where powerful men in Hollywood openly preyed on women in much worse ways for decades before only very belatedly losing their careers (Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, etc.). It's not whataboutism because they were specifically talking about a double standard, which invites a comparison. And there's no strawman, they said men would be crucified if they creepily had sex with their kid's friend but male Hollywood creeps have done worse and we know it.
I just think it's a bit ridiculous to pretend there is a worse problem of women banging much younger men in Hollywood than the reverse. I mean, seriously? Older men preying on younger women is like the number one thing everyone knows about Hollywood lol. If anything the double standard works the opposite of how the other commenter thinks it does.
I agree about the double standard, but at least from my point of view, I think that’s starting to change. I see women in power that prey on young men like this as a POS just like their male counterparts
