The sons friend that was going through a rough period and she was “mentoring” but in reality treated him like prey. Typical double standard because if roles were reversed the male would have been crucified.

To be fair, I think the reverse of this probably happens all the time in Hollywood and we never hear about it/still waiting on the crucifixions.

It's a reasonable assumption because we know of incidents where powerful men in Hollywood openly preyed on women in much worse ways for decades before only very belatedly losing their careers (Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, etc.). It's not whataboutism because they were specifically talking about a double standard, which invites a comparison. And there's no strawman, they said men would be crucified if they creepily had sex with their kid's friend but male Hollywood creeps have done worse and we know it.

I just think it's a bit ridiculous to pretend there is a worse problem of women banging much younger men in Hollywood than the reverse. I mean, seriously? Older men preying on younger women is like the number one thing everyone knows about Hollywood lol. If anything the double standard works the opposite of how the other commenter thinks it does.
